As with other Luci lights this product outshines the competition!
I have several other Mpowered inflatable lantern and candle lights that I take when we go camping. They are one of my favorite things to bring and use. They are reliable and make great conversation starters. They are adequately bright and I don't have to worry about batteries, bulbs, broken mantels or burns with the Luci lights. I'm definitely a fan of the brand. Now that I have my lanterns and candles for task and mood lighting I wanted to create a different element of the atmosphere by having a string of lights around our tent. I was so excited when I saw that MPowered now had string lights. The unit is bulkier and less conducive to an ultralight set up than the other Luci lights due to the base, but I mostly glamp when I camp so I don't mind. I'm happy that there is a cover for the string of lights when you wrap it up for storage. I don't like detangling lights strands. I really hate it when one light going bad ruins the whole strand. Even with the cover, it's still smaller than most other lanterns. The lights are nicely spaced to wrap around and drape over objects and not lose brightness. They also are durable with the insulated/braided cord vs. a vinyl wrapped one. A bonus is a fact that I can get an emergency charge from the base, and the string can be charged via USB. The string of lights produces a low to mid-level shadowless lighting for a nice sized area depending on which brightness setting I choose. If I need a task light, the flashlight mode provides a more focused light stream. The majority of my camping experience is with my family. More often than not, just myself and my tween daughter. I love that all of the Luci lights are kid-friendly and safe, they encourage her participation. The next time I have an evening festival I will be putting these string lights up on my gazebo.

Amazing quality!!!
I love these and they are a staple on my camping trips. They provide a ton of light but aren’t too bright to hurt the eyes. They last so long so I rarely have to worry about them going out. I also love the little hooks provided along the string to make hanging them up super easy. This feature is great since you will have to take them down and put them back up multiple times during a camping trip to charge them. I also love how the lights are stored inside the battery pack. I will definitely be purchasing more in the future

Great for tent camping
I got these to use while tent camping where no electricity is available. They worked very well and were so easy to use. We were in a large, three room tent and chose to set them up in our “sitting room”. They were super easy to unravel from the spool and hang from loops inside the tent. I hung the charger panel in the window and they charged all day without me having to think twice about it. We loved the variable lighting, using low light to keep easy visibility for moving around and the higher light for when we wanted to play cards. Over the course of four nights we used them for several hours each night and never ran out of charge. I also loved how easy it was to just wind them up and pack them away NEATLY for the next trip. I see myself taking them on every camping trip, regardless of whether or not there is electricity available. I would definitely recommend.

Different type of lights
I preface all of my battery powered light reviews (and yes, there are several) by admitting I'm a light junkie. I can't get enough. I saw these and had to buy them. Luci brand is probably the second pioneer into this niche product line with d. light probably being the first (and in my opinion - slightly better although very negligible and VERY dependent on your personal needs). I have several of their "blow up" lights which are absolutely unbeatable for their design to fit in tiny spaces and complete water proof?ness (if not proof - extremely resistant). Bug out bags and boating.. Luci is your champ for sure. This light definitely seems like more of a novelty item than their previous lights because it's not going to serve a large audience. I'd say those who primitive camp and still desire ambient lighting. So me.... and like 10 other people.. maybe? otherwise.. you're buying AC powered globe lights for half as much. Pros. 1. These do put out a good bit of light. They are brighter than a single LUCI lantern, probably because the light is more dispersed though (since you can stretch it out). 2. They are solar powered. This could be a plus over something like the 15 dollar string of battery powered coleman lights (for camping) depending on how you view it. If they take 12-13 hours to recharge.. I'm going to say the colemans are more practical. It would definitely be nice if these (along with all other solar powered electronics) could utilize batteries as an alternate source of power. 3. Water resistant. This is where they could separate from the colemans (however those have been left out for months at a time and been somewhat ok). 4. could charge another usb device... I dunno.. do one thing.. do it well. don't try to do 4 things somewhat OK-ly. (in other words you may be better served by carrying a compact light and a slim battery brick because who wants to tear their string lights down to charge their phone?) but it could come in handy if you were out of options. 5. Possibly compact. I don't see myself rolling/unrolling these up to use them at my camp. They'll probably get unrolled and strung up and left up.. but maybe for your purposes this could be useful. Cons. 1. No good/built-in way to mount the solar "panel". I don't know.. glue a metal plate to the back.. and mount a bracket to a tree or whatever. Tie them together with a magnet.. That's the easiest way i see to put it somewhere semi-permanently. 2. Cost is somewhat high IMO. There are tons of options in this type of genre that are priced less or offer more features for the same price. This is a 20 dollar device selling at 29 with a VERY fancy box. Overall. I'll never badmouth a good light and this is no exception. Like I said though.. I think it's a LITTLE overpriced.. and I don't see the purpose that it intends to serve other than to feed my addiction for lights. I do like it though and I'm glad I have it.. Although for my perceived purpose of ambient camping lights.. I think the cheaper and more utilitarian coleman lantern string lights are a better or extremely competitive option. 1st picture is string lights on medium. 2nd picture is a Ryno Tuff Camping Lantern rated at 150 lumens. The string lights definitely light up the room more even on medium. On high they are far brighter than the other light.

Favorite camping lights in years
Camping last summer was wonderfully enhanced by these well-designed solar lights. It was rare that I ever ran them on more than the lowest power setting as it was usually plenty, providing warm, pleasant light for hours. On one particular trip we had a near perfect setup with a couple trees on either end of our table, lights strung between, with the solar panel able to hang down out of the branches of one tree. Morning sun would catch the panel long enough to fill the battery and we used the lights for a few hours every night, never seeing the battery drop below 75% at any time. This was over eight nights total. Low setting was enough to play cards by on any given evening without blowing up our night vision. I've also configured a couple connection points in my 10x10 canvas tent to string then up, and they're perfect for being stuck inside during storms. The only slightly finicky thing is wrapping them back up so they fit back inside the case. The real key seems to be wrapping so the light capsules don't line up with each other. Not too loose but not too tight. I used to be a big fan of lanterns at night but these have made me a total convert. They've worked very well on at least 10 camping trips over the past year. If they died or got destroyed by some inconsiderate woodland creature, I wouldn't hesitate to buy another set.

Best lights for camping
I love these lights! They’re genius. I had the multicolor version previously and wanted the warm white ones. I used 3M wire hooks to string them up inside my truck for camping and they worked awesome. The solar charging is relatively slow, which is to be expected for how small the panel is, but they’ll buy you more time if you get it in direct sun for a few hours (the instructions say 16-18 hours direct sun for a full charge). I tested the longevity of the lights, and it was over 24hrs for the low setting. Love em!

Great String Lights!
These lights were so great! I got them because of their ability to solar charge and that they could also charge our phones. They’re super bright, charged well, and we’re very durable for their first camping trip. Some reviews said they didn’t stay on all night or that the strings broke. Well there’s 3 brightness settings, so if you have them at full brightness from dusk till dawn then of course you’ll use more battery. The pics above ^^^ are at the 1st setting, which was more than bright enough for us. We also chose to sleep with them OFF like sane people, so we would still have 1/2 - 3/4 of the battery left the next day. As for breaking, you have to wind them up around their base and shut the lid when you put them away. You have to be careful doing this because a string can be sticking out here or there, and you could shut the lid on it. That’s they only way I can figure that they broke. Great lights, well worth the money.

7 years and counting
Bought back in 2019 and just used it again last week on a camping trip. Battery and lights still work as they did when I first bought it.

Great purchase
I bought these to use in our tent for camping. I couldn’t be more impressed with them. Of all the things I’ve bought to come with us for a month long camping trip, these are the best. Great light, throughout the tent. Good dimmable options. Light weight, compact and solar charged. Every couple of days I stick the pack outside the tent to recharge and it lasts a good few nights - actually hasn’t run out yet and we’ve been here 10 days. I’ve hung them along the middle of the tent and it’s like a proper lighting system. I would most definitely recommend these lights.
