Maxim Deluxe Wooden ABC Blocks. Extra-Large Engraved Baby Alphabet Letters, Counting & Building Block Set

A couple other reviewers put up photos showing most sides of the blocks, but I figured I'd try to be as complete as possible. I bought this set because it was the only nice-quality looking wooden blocks that had both uppercase and lowercase letters that I could find.There are 40 blocks in total, 1 of each letter, with uppercase on one side, lowercase on the other, both colored, with duplicates for letters A, C, B, I, O, and T (my photos left out an extra O, I missed it). There are also 5 blocks with colored numbers, 0-9, with 2 numbers per side, along with addition, substraction, plus minus and equals signs, and a seemingly random question mark(the set is lacking a colon, so I assume they weren't going for ternary operations).If you want more numbers, the set also has an additonal 2 of each number on one of the stamped sides for the letters, with 2 plus, minus, times, division and equal signs as well. There's a 3rd 3,5,6, and 9, with 4 1s, due to the duplicate letters.The non-number stamped sides are 2 words and picture to match the block's letter, and one side with construction materials on it (bricks, windows, etc.)The colored number blocks seem to just have arbitrary extra pictures stamped on their sides, while the colored sign blocks seem to have porch decorations, and word-numbers with matching pictures up to six.The blocks are pretty high quality, quite large, and durable. The side's burnt prints are deep enough to feel the texture, while the tops and bottoms have a grated texture in the wood, with the letter/number being elevated and painted.I think for everything else, the pictures speak for themseves. You can see in the video our little 8 month old got a kick out of them when we first opened them, up, but I assume he'll appreciate them far more once he's older.

Looked at dozens of block sets. Didn't realize it would have been so challenging, they're blocks right. Nope. I bought these for my 1 yr old as he love handling and stacking things. So I considered several things.1) size. Many sets are 1". These are 1.5" square. Plenty large to see and not shove in mouth.2) quantity, there's 40 blocks. Six sided content. That's 240 faces of content.3) coloring and printing. These are high quality. Each block has two painted sides. On these faces the content is milled into the wood. Not printed. That requires time and machinery. The other 4 faces content is heat pressed into the wood and has great detail. The paint used does not appear cheap. It has not peeled, flaked, or faded at all. Obviously high quality color.4) quality wood. The wood was well sanded and had zero rough edges both with nor against the grain.In the end I know he's young for these and is not understanding the content but he physically enjoys them. He loves when I stack them and he knocks them down. He also tends to reach and remove the tallest block in a stack. You can see him thinking while interacting with the, I find these acceptable for his young age. No worries. They're good quality will last until the recommended age.Just wish they included a small wagon or drawstring bag. We used a clear plastic container. I may make a small wagon for these.Great blocks. Spend the money. These aren't cheap but you'll get what you pay for.

I was recommended blocks as a great toy for my 5-6 month old. I researched all the blocks on Amazon and landed on these. Now that I have them, I can confirm that these are the BEST blocks on Amazon!! Here are a couple of the highlights:-large enough that they are not a choking hazard. I confirmed by measuring, they are 1.75in square.-well designed: fun colors, side images are lasered/ burned on so that it's not screen printed. Sides are rounded on 4 faces. I was hoping they'd be fully rounded but the sides facing the letters are flat. The rest of the sides are buttery smooth so I am happy with this part overall. They are not splintering.-paint doesn't come off in my baby's mouth. I tested trying to rub some off and it was solid!-pictures match letters- this was not always the case when looking for other blocks. Some of these blocks have only 2 labeled pictures. Other faces may be extra numbers, or it looks like some house components (window, brick wall, door) so you can build a house.-you get letters, numbers, and mathematical symbols.-comes with a mesh bag to hold all the blocks.These are the best! Highly recommend! I will get more sets as gifts for friends.

We love these blocks! They are very well made- sturdy, vivid and fun! I love the pictures that correspond with the letters and numbers. You get the entire alphabet A-Z, the numbers 0-9 and mathematic symbols +-x division = and a ? Mark. All of the letters have uppercase on a side and lower case on the other side. The numbers are 2 sided, so for example 5 on a side and 0 on the other. Some of the letter blocks have numbers etched in a side as well (the letters that have numbers etched in the side were doubles.. ie- I have 2 ‘c’s however it has a ‘6’ etched in a side. The blocks also come with a handy black mesh bag to keep them in that is a Velcro closure, great for travel or to carry with you for the babysitter. Blocks are the perfect size, about 1 3/4 “ per side! As you can see from the video, my daughter enjoys seeing how high she can stack them! She is 1.5 years old so she doesn’t recognize the letters and numbers just yet but she does recognize some of the pictures! I always do a good amount of research before my buys, and the negative reviews were minor in my opinion and nothing too concerning... I’m glad I didn’t let those reviews keep me from buying these blocks... I give them 2 thumbs up, and no, this review is not given for a free product! If you’ve come across this review, get them! The amount of fun we’ve had with these will pay for themselves over and over again!

This is a block set I had to purchase because about 18 months ago, when I was feeling like I needed to try and adopt minimalism for the sake of my sanity and overall emotional well-being (ha, ha, ha...that died a super quick death given the current therapy programs we're working on over here) I donated the alphabet blocks that we had because we were trying to get our son to use smaller ones for building and he was obsessed with them because they were an easier size for him to manipulate and I couldn't get him to even touch the smaller ones as long as they were anywhere he could find. And then his speech therapist recommended we get some alphabet blocks to push together as we were making the sounds for a word to help emphasize the idea of putting sounds together for our little man and I went... "Crud". That will teach me to be hasty about the decluttering.What I like about these is that they have both the capital and the lower case letter on each block. That is super important, I actually find it pretty frustrating that so many shows and products geared towards teaching kiddos alphabet recognition emphasize the capital letters, because most of what they are actually going to be reading and decoding is in lower case. So I love, love, love that these have all the lower case letters. I like that it has more then one of each vowel, because it helps with putting words and sounds together for what we are doing. I like that it has numbers. And something else that is kind of cute, one of the sides of each block has a brick or window pattern so that you could also use it to build an imaginary house or whatever. I think that's kind of cool, although I don't really picture my sweet little guy using that feature any time soon.As of right now, they have been holding up well to a few solid weeks of my son chewing on them (he's a heavy oral stemmer), and the paint isn't coming off easily at all. I also like the mesh bag that comes with these for storage, his previous set (which was a different brand) didn't have one, and I really appreciate that this one does. Overall, I am pleased with this purchase and the quality of this product.

I purchased these for my 10 week old to be able to explore and learn. I like that they come in bright colors and after searching, buying and returning a few sets I am very pleased with these so far.They are a great size (see picture) and reduces the choking hazard risk and made with non toxic paint - they appear to be made very well with smoothe wood and are light enough as well. They have letters on two sides and math, animals, and pictures on the others. The letters / numbers are the only sides in color but the other sides are engraved as well, this will be perfect as my little one grows and explores. They stack well and offer many options for learning and playing.They also come with a mesh carrying bag which I am not sure we would use but nice to have nonetheless.

I originally had purchased the "Melissa & Doug Deluxe Wooden ABC/123 Blocks Set With Storage Pouch (50pc; colors may vary)" set and instantly HATED them! They were teeny tiny! (Yes, I read the dimensions but still didn't realize how small they would be when handing them to my son). What's worse is that their quality was shoddy - the biggest thing is that the edges of the blocks were "fraying" and I knew that they wouldn't last long - I'm now in the process of returning them.For only about $5 more, this set may have 10 less blocks but they are definitely a higher quality. I see no "fraying" or any other issues. They are also the perfect size that I've been looking for that I remember from when I had blocks as a kid. As soon as I dumped them out next to him, my 15 month old started stacking them...and then knocking them down haha. I also love the variety of designs on the sides to also help teach him various things. I'm planning on homeschooling him for his first few years so everything I buy I try to make sure it has multiple uses and will last.I now will always try to choose Maxim Enterprise, Inc. over Melissa and Doug whenever I can. *And for the record, the only reason I'm putting Melissa and Doug in this review is because EVERYONE seems to rave about their items but so far everything I've gotten from them has not impressed me/seemed cheap. I'm tired of the big name brands getting all the customers because they get all the word-of-mouth.If I had one complaint: The letter "Y" does not come in Yellow. I wish it did since I'm also teaching colors and like having "R" for Red, "B" for Blue, etc. so he subconsciously starts to begin the spelling properly. For yellow, I either use the yellow "E" or the yellow = sign.I'm not sure about the bag for storage. It's kinda net-like so I'd think the edges of the blocks would make the holes larger over time? But I haven't even put them in it - I'll probably use it for something else and put these in a bin.

Out of all the kids block options I saw while searching on Amazon, this set was by far the best option. They are larger than most of the other options, which was key for me. My son is 13 months and these are perfect size for him to learn and play with. With developing motor skills and coordination, these larger blocks make it easier to achieve success in stacking and sorting and help facilitate further exploration and growth through play. They are 1.75 inch cubes. And, the edges are rounded which is a huge plus (the edges that have paint on them are not as rounded as the non painted edges). I had read in reviews of other brands that their blocks were sharp, but these seem perfectly safe. The paint is vibrant and the woodburned images are cute. My only complaint (and it's silly) is that I can't spell out my son's name with them because he has a double letter in his name and the set does not repeat all of the letters. The set is made in China, but seems well made, and it came with a breathable mesh storage bag. Reminds me exactly of the ones I had as a child!
