Kitty Be Good Cat Scratching Deterrent Spray – Protects Furniture & Wallpaper, 500ml

My second review of this product. Others have rated this negatively because it doesn’t deter their cats from scratching. That is unfair as the manufacturer clearly states that it doesn’t work for all cats. I have two cats. One it works for, the other one it doesn’t. The one who doesn’t seem deterred by it has always used his scratching post more than my furniture, thankfully! The one who will happily rip my sofa to shreds no longer does so. If it doesn’t work for your cat then accept that and understand it’s nit the manufacturers fault. My previous review had less stars because the nozzle broke, I purchased another bottle and the same thing happened. I contacted the seller and they could not have been more helpful. They apologised, informed me how they are trying to rectify this and sent me a replacement nozzle free of charge. The new nozzle works a treat. Hence 5 stars. It is a good product if it works for your cat and the seller’s customer service is exemplary. In hindsight I should have waited to review after contacting the seller.

First spray is good, has a strong orange scent, assumed it would be really good, first day seemed great.... probably within 24 hours the cat had returned and peed. Clean up, spray more... then within 15 hours the cat had returned and pooed. Not quite sure how it's repelling a cat if it returns to make its mess. Initial strong scent, but didn't last. No idea if the scent did anything to start with but assumed it did. Just didn't last.

Purchased after reading reviews and recommendations - lovely scent and very effective in deterring my cats from scratching furniture and stair post. However I have only been able to use it twice as the trigger gun part of the spray bottle has stopped working and it won’t spray now. Not sure if this is just a one off with my item or if it has happened to anyone else. Due to the faulty spray, I do consider it a bit expensive for something that was effective but unable to be used after a couple of days.

Despite spraying the rugs my cat seems to like the smell?, the tackiness on the rug? who knows with cats. It doesn't deter her on iota.

We have a 9 month old kitten and with a new velvet sofa coming, I was very anxious. I decided to try this spray as it said it wouldn’t leave marks (it doesn’t), had a pleasant smell (it does) and the manufacturer offered a money back guarantee, which I feared I might have to use (I haven’t). Raffles seemed quite keen to have at the new sofa but lost interest when we used the spray - he sleeps in the living room, so after the first night I was really quite worried that I’d be met with a damaged piece of furniture but he hadn’t touched it at all. We sprayed every evening for a week and that did the trick and we are now no longer using it. The fragrance was nice (although my daughter was a bit heavy handed with it on one occasion and then it was understandably a little overpowering) and it left no marks. Really pleased with this as I wasn’t sure it would work but it did everything it claimed to. Would highly recommend.

I bought this product before and was sent an identical bottle to the picture and it worked wonders. I then ordered another bottle and was sent a white bottle instead and I could instantly tell that the product inside wasn’t the same from the moment I sprayed it. Previously the smell was very fragrant and quite strong however this bottle had little effect and my kitten wasn’t bothered at all. It’s obvious the product is homemade but it’s clearly inconsistent.

I purchased this spray to deter my cat from scratching my hall carpet. I can safely say he does not like the smell of the spray and it seems to have helped. I have also put a couple of scratching boxes with cat nip sprinkled on around the area. A couple of days after the first spraying he decided to try the carpet again, but after a second spraying he has left it alone. I will probably have to spray it occasionally just to remind him but the smell is quite pleasant so it is not a problem. Also the spray trigger works very well unlike a previous different make spray I purchased which continually clogged and jammed and almost broke my fingers trying to use. Although the spray is not cheap it is certainly cheaper than a new carpet, but I also appreciate that this may not work with every cat.

Total rubbish. I got this to hopefully put a stop my cat scratching my newly redecorated wallpaper. So far it has only made things worse! I thought even with the rating it would at least stop her doing as much damage given the citrus smell but I guess when they made this stuff they assumed all cats hate citrus. Having said that to be fair Dax doesn't like the smell of orange but for some reason this doesn't seem to affect her. Do yourselves a favor, when redecorating after your cat has destroyed your wallpaper, don't waste money on this just buy extra wallpaper instead or a spray bottle and fill with water, sooner or later the cat will get the message after getting hit with water every time she tries to scratch my walls again..
