It isn’t designed for food. But could it be used to flatten dough to a specific thickness, e.g. 1/4 inch ?

I don't think it would work well since only one of the rollers is driven. The other is friction drive and I think this would tend to tear the dough easily.

Is this wide enough to ring out a sleeping bag?

The rollers are exactly 12 inches or 30.5 cm. Seems too small for a sleeping bag even if you double it over. Works well for most cloths and wiping rags.
