This is not a glossy coffee table book, though there are some beautiful photos, it is a serious work that examines Netsuke and their history. Quite a scholarly work packed with information about how the collecting of Netsuke and other Japanese miniature carving could develop in the future - given the fact that the existing very finest works are already owned and held in private collections and therefore there is little trading of Netsuke, except presumably privately among the incredibly wealthy, and most pieces are unavailable to the individual collector. The purpose of the book is really to create a new philosophy surrounding the collection of high quality Japanese carvings for the serious collector who is not a multi millionaire.

Arrived on time, a good price and well packed. The book is ideal for a beginner like myself and has lots of useful info a pictures.
