Aquasource, Glacier Bay, Seasons Cartridge HL-40-4.25 Inch Ceramic Shower

We were in a bind with this. I was nervous about buying on Amazon but it was my only option, other than ripping into the wall/shower to install new connections. This works for the Aquasource system that you can’t find at Lowe’s anymore. As another reviewer stated, you can carefully open up the filter and swap the white piece with the stem on it with your previous cartridge if the stem is too long. That’s exactly what I did. So relieved that it is working. Might snatch up another one for good measure before this product completely disappears.

We got this as a replacement part for Aquasource. Honestly, it works better than the original - perhaps our original shower always had a defective part and we just didn't know it.This was easy to install and was a perfect fit.

Delivery prompt, installation was easy, and the price was certainly right. The only issue was that the Glacier Bay shower body was set up the opposite of the new cartridge, and for it to fit, 'up' became 'down' . I made sure that the little pegs lined up, and it only fit in the one way. I applied some liquid soap to the outer casing and once I had it lined up it slid right in. It works wonderfully. No leaks, no drips. I have to think I saved a few hundred bucks on a plumber. But because I had to install it upside down, 'cold' is now 'hot'. I can live with that.

Hi! I just wanted to let those looking for a shorter splined version of this valve marked "HL-40" by Aquasource know that this part will work as a replacement with a small disclaimer. It is NOT a direct drop in component but it DOES work. Use a screwdriver to push in on the two small side clips on the blue body and remove the insides. Be careful as there are three pieces internally but it only goes together one way. So if it does come apart just look at it carefully, line up the tabs, and stack it back together. You will have to take apart your old one as well so start with that one since its being replaced anyways to see what I mean. Use your old brass stem and the white piece of plastic attached to it and swap it into this new valve and snap it back together. I used the new blue body and guts with my old short splined brass valve handle and removed the red cap completely and it was identical to my old valve. I just replaced mine, in total including shutting the water off and turning it back on it took me 10 min or less so this is VERY doable and will save you from hiring a plumber to come replace your shower faucet just because they don't make a direct replacement part anymore. My 2 star rating for the category of "Value for money" was because this cost me over $40 and there were extremely similar parts at lowes for $10-$12. They did not have the same back to back "D" O-ring configuration so they would not work but parts that are that similar in material and construction should not be that far apart in price.

Great price factory fit

ZERO starsSee the pictures it only came with the blue part the red part and the bottom shell no interior parts of the cartridge or the metal rod come with this shipment.In other words it's useless unless you rig it together with your previous cartridge.. which is what I did to make it work (tenant is upset) so I now can't get a refund which is bull crap.Highly wouldn't recommend since it doesn't come with what the description says it is
