Absolutely great conecters a must !

The item is great, however I ordered the yellow 4.9 connectors and received 3.9 black.I sent them back and ordered another pack the same day, but the second pack turned up the same.The amazon barcode and label on the bag says yellow 4.9 but the pack doesn't contain that.I didn't mark it 1 star because that's unfair as the product itself is fine, just mis-labelled.Left the review in hope that someone at zebra pick it up.

Coax compression plugs are a little harder to fit compared to screw-on plugs. However, these plugs have a metal tube which slides between the inner and outer insulations so you get a greater area of contact with the braid. You have to ensure the plug is pushed far enough into the cable and this can be hard to achieve. The inner core insulator will line up with the inner base of the plug when done correctly (see photo). I use a compression crimper tool to help with this and then use the tool again to perform the final crimp. In my photos you can see a translucent band around the plug. This means the plug is uncompressed. When the plug is compressed the band will be hidden and the plug appear entirely metal. A tug on the cable should prove a firm connection. If the cable comes away it wasn't pushed in correctly prior to crimping. In another photo I show a compressed plug next to a screw-on plug, which is shorter in overall length.It's worth investing in decent quality tools to both accurately cut the cable and compress the plug. Some cutters come with replaceable blades, useful if you're fitting a lot of these for a living. As these tools aren't cheap it's unlikely a home user will use compression plugs.

Excellent connector. Get the cable stripping right and crimp in the right place, all sorted.Be careful that you get the right one for the cable that you are using!
