Are both types of the earpiece/headphone comfortable to wear under a helmet?

Yes, I would put the ear piece under the helmet buckle strap and through the V into my ear, that way when I turn my head, it doesn't pull on the ear piece cord if it is sitting in front or behind the buckle strap.

i need replacement charger. Any idea where i ca. Purchase?

I use a usb cable and and I plug it in to the hand set and into a usb charger that's plugged into an electrical outlet.
