Fauxchet Book, Black

this is a new version of an older one and its just another way of doing stitches with yarn using a different kind of tool other than a crochet hook, knitting needle or knook hook. From what it says you can also bead with it and other things which is pretty cool! It takes some getting used to but once you get the hang of it it is very easy to do. For those of you who cant seem to figure it out, check out the the YouTube video Made with Love by Glamma where she shows you how to use this tool step by step. It's pretty nifty. And she is going to do a project with us soon using it. She is very easy to learn from too. There are more stitches you can do with it too. In fact I am gonna order another one right now so my granddaughter and I can learn together with Glamma and the girls ;)

I'm 70 years old: I knit and crochet, and I'm stoked about Fauxchet! So far, I've made a cellphone case, a dog sweater, and a shawl. After viewing the tutorials and making some swatches for practice, I was off and running. I know some of the reviews here are lukewarm and even negative, but I think that comes from comparing Fauxchet to "the way I've always done it." It's fun, the Fauxchet stitch is visually and tactilely appealing, and I highly recommend it as a satisfying fiber art in its own right.

Just like when you first learned to crochet, this takes some practice. The book only provides 2 stitches you can do, but experimenting with it, I found it is possible to do more. All and all, new and different.

It is what it says it is. The handcraft itself is a little strange to get going, not just learning to use it, but figuring out how to hold your work while you craft. You almost need to do this at a table so you don't spend an inordinate amount of time raising and locating every next loop.

I did not find this easy to use. The instructions were sufficient but you will need quite a bit of practice for consistency. Also I find this is not easier than crochet or knit just different. You can achieve similar with a slip stitch loosely done.

It is interesting to use. It does have a learning curve though. There are some tutorials on the internet for this product which has helped me a lot.

Did not work as pictured. . . . Instructions are lacking information.-- Sure it gives you the basics, on how to use it, but really Needs to be more in depth.I can chain a long row, I can go back across the row, but it doesnt work right to be able to turn it and go back for the 3rd and consecutive rows. . .Was not happy with the purchase, that was supposed to help me enjoy my crocheting, while taking pressure off my arthritic hands that tire easily from crocheting.

Works as it should, would buy again very satisfied.

Fantastico il prodotto, con l’aiuto dei video su YouTube si può imparare e con un po’ di pratica si possono fare cose carine e poi essendo così piccolo si può portare in borsa e usare ad esempio in viaggio. L’unica critica la devo fare al corriere DHL che lo ha messo sulla cassetta della posta senza citofonare e avvisarmi , e visto che era già pagato ho rischiato che il primo che passava se lo prendeva.

Found it too difficult and the loops are a very loose product

Non sembra cosi facile come sembra, per capire qualche cosa consiglio di seguire dei filmati su youtube dove spiegano il funzionamento e i vari punti.Sarebbe opportuno che nella confezione ci mettessero le istruzioni anche in italiano.

Well this is New sure - but no instructions - loops no hook

Liked nothing about this product. Crocheting with a hook is far superior and I would not recommend this item. Don't waste your money
