While I didn't read that it was used, it's in good condition and will for sure get some use.

Great for novice who wants to extend the life of your A4
Book is fine for basic items. I believe others have said having this with a few other brands books would be good so you can see multiple angles. My intention for this was to extend the life of my 2008 A4 without breaking the bank. I also purchased a cheap WiFi reader (still on its way) so I can read the computer codes. If it’s simple like an air filter. I’ll surely replace. Anything major I do not intend to replace. This book also has the maintenance information that’s helpful. What is super nice is you can see how many parts you need to remove for a particular service item. So if you bring it to a mechanic you can tell if they are pulling your leg for some items. For example if you need to replace something on the motor most items do not require you to pull the motor. However if a gasket need replacing. You may need to pull the entire motor. Knowing what is involved can help you question the validity of labor. Parts in general for this car are expensive (even when they are in large supply). Mostly because Audi parts are always expensive.

Great wealth of information, but minor tweaks needed here and there, possible revision.
Arrived in good condition. This book has proven to be very helpful when working on my 2008 A4, finding fluid capacities, torque numbers, and detailed procedures to remove different items. However, I think a revision would be beneficial after so many years. This book covers two generations of A4, the B6 chassis and B7 chassis. They're very similar but have slight differences, and sometimes it seems the book jumps between the two or focus on the B6 series. I believe one example that's missed is that the cooling system in the B6 has two temperature sensors while the B7 only has 1, but this isn't addressed in the book. I will have to confirm this but I believe it also recommends 5w-30 oil which may have been used for the B6, but my B7 uses 5w-40. The layout is also confusing because the index refers to page number, I.E. 12-10 is the tenth page of section 12, while each section labels them in order, I.E. 12-10 is the tenth topic in section 12. These two usually aren't the same.Overall, satisfied with this book and the information it contains, but it feels like an unfinished final draft where it could be run through with a fine-tooth comb.

Check Youtube, don't just follow manual
I have used the Haynes manual on several repairs on my 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee. That experience taught me to take the steps from the manual, and write out the "going in, replace, and going out steps" rather than just trust Haynes "installation is reverse of removal".Having said that, the Haynes A4 2002-2008 manual does have a wealth of information for simpler jobs, such as cabin air filter replacement, spark plugs, etc.I bought the Audi A4 2002-2008 Haynes Repair Manual for my wifes A4. Just did the front brake rotors and pads, both bought from Amazon.BTW: Haynes says all, repeat all, bolts, and the guide pins and + guide pin bushings must be replaced with each caliper and or rotor removal. Ask the local Audi dealer. They'll look at you like you are strange. They do not do it unless the bolt or guide pin is broken. It's $33 for the caliper bolts, about 16 ea. for the caliper springs, etc, etc. Save your money. Pads and rotors are all that's needed. The book completely missed a step that would have made the process much easier. The caliper comes apart into more pieces than Haynes shows. The job is still do-able, but much more difficult. Found a video on YouTube that actually showed how to remove an additional piece that Haynes does not show. Would have made the job take much, much less time.I understand that that the same model is made with different parts each year. And sometimes different parts in same year, different factories, as with my Jeep. Haynes has to take a certain number of short cuts. Unfortunately, sometimes those short cuts cost the do-it-yourselfer valuable hours.Unfortunately, Haynes fails to tell the user some extremely useful bits, like "now turn the wheels all the way to the left (or right) before trying to reach this large bolt that requires a very long socket handle in order to break the (likely) freeze or the (definitely) torqued-down pressure. Also, they did not even take apart the caliper to 4 parts, leaving two bolted together, making the job much more difficult.Next time, before I even assemble my tools or buy any parts, I'm going to Youtube to QC anything in any of my Haynes manuals (BMW 325, Audi A4, and Jeep Grand Cherokee).

A must for every car owner
I truly believe that every car owner should purchase a Haynes manual to go with their car. Even the most seasoned DIY owner can be thrown off by the unfamiliar designs of their new car and owner's manuals can often be lacking in certain critical areas (and as seems to be the very bizarre case with Audi A4s of the B6 and B7 generation, the owner's manuals oftentimes seem to just be lacking- as in totally absent from the car. It's a very well known thing... check it out), so something which goes into deeper detail is a must. Having all the torque specs, gap settings, bolt types, fluid levels, OEM part numbers, etc., a book like this is essential. As simple as Google is to use, it can be frustrating to try and look up torque specs on a car that is known for having a gang of gnomes seemingly roaming around stealing the manuals, then you go onto a forum, ask what the torque specs are, and the first reply you get is "Read the manual"Even in cases where the manual is there, 99% of what is contained within the pages of the Haynes manual isn't there. If you're just looking to change the plugs and belt on your car, this is the manual for you. If you're looking to rebuild the head and you're comfortable with the job- this is the manual for you.

Excellent
By far the best purchase I got for my Audi b7 a4. Has information on all product replacement as well as total breakdown of engine block and rebuild. Much more useful than owners manual

Handy Reference For Repairs
Handy book to keep around. I have a B7 Avant Quattro and the section on the B7 specifically is reduced to a small chapter. I wish I had more info or a book specific to my model. However, a great book to have in the garage (although I won’t be taking out my engine or removing the entire car panels anytime soon - but good to know you can do it 😜

Probably the best Workshop Manual Ive ever bought.
I collect Audis and workshop manuals accordingly and I think this is the best Audi manual, in fact the most useful workshop manual I have. No frills written by someone who knows the product and expects a certain amount of ability of the reader. It has been priceless to rebuilding my A4 B6 3.0 manual..... In fact the best £18 ive spent on it. Clear concise no frills I found it better than the Bentley series (I have Audi coupe and 100 - or 4000 and 5000 in the USA) & the "English" Haynes versions - which try to cover everything and ultimately fail. Yes im based in England. Truly excellent thank you. Stephen

Worth having for when you're stuck...
This is a useful manual, although I suppose these days it's kind of superceded by all the information on owner's forums, but to be able to stick this in your boot or garage/workshop makes it worth the money. The photos could be a lot clearer (I'm sure they had good sketches when I started looking at cars in the late 70s) but generally the instructions are clear and well laid out.The fact that I have a Haynes for every car I ever had (30+ ? who knows..) probably tells the story.

Handy
Its not detailed, but its really handy and a good supplement to the Bentley manual. You will need all the help you can get with these cars.
