I purchased this pillow in January, 2017. I was contacted by the company, Relief-Mart, Inc., asking if I liked the pillow and if I would leave a review. I told them that I would soon write a review on Amazon. Obviously, it took me a bit longer than they , no doubt, hoped it would. I deliberately waited so I could give this pillow a good try. So, here is my opinion. I have never, never paid this much for a pillow. However, it is worth every single penny. There is no other pillow like this. It is made, as they described, with shredded memory foam. It is shipped absolutely flat. You can almost fluff it up completely by hand but following their instructions is better. Place it in the dryer and it will come out very fluffy. I have not washed the pillow so I cannot give an opinion as to how that works out. I suffer from arthritis and fibromyalgia which causes a lot of pain and lack of sleep. I always have awaken during the night with neck pain and by morning I could hardly move. This pillow has changed that. I sleep much better and the neck pain is 70-80% better on the average. I purchased the firm pillow due to the fact that I read several reviews where someone suggested if you suffer from severe neck pain, the firm pillow may work best. The firm pillow is not hard but it is very firm. It can be "molded" around your head and neck to suit your needs, which is very helpful. I have used pillows in the past that was for side sleepers and pillows that was recommended for those with neck pain. I have used memory foam pillows but nothing has worked until I purchased this one. It did take me a couple of days to get use to the firmness. I even considered returning it to the company to have them remove some of the foam. Yes, they will do that. I have never heard of a company that was so eager to accommodate their customer's needs. They offered several times to make any adjustments necessary. After a couple of nights I noticed such a difference in how I felt that I was afraid to change anything with the pillow so I decided to keep it. To be honest, there are some nights I would like to have one a little less firm and I have considered purchasing a medium firm pillow. However, the firm seems to be doing the job so I may not change. I highly recommend this pillow. You really can't go wrong. The company will work with you to make you happy. Take them up on their offer if it doesn't work for you. You have nothing to lose.

Helped with my neck pain

This is really a great pillow. I am so picky about pillows - I hate the texture of solid memory foam, down, and down alternative pillows. I am very petite (5’2 with narrow shoulders), sleep on my side, and yet want my pillow to be very firm, thick, and supportive - I really hate pillows that are too flimsy where you sink right through them and there’s no neck support. I often find, in other people’s homes or at hotels, that 2 pillows are too tall for my narrow frame, yet one is too soft and doesn’t support my head, leading to neck and shoulder pain. I’d been sleeping on 2 polyester- or PLA-filled pillows at home for years, just adjusting them each night to find the best possible height and support, but when it came time to replace them, I bought this after seeing that The Wirecutter recommended a similar shredded foam pillow with a bamboo pillowcase. I’ve used it for about three months and really love it - I bought one for my husband as well, and he’s also really happy with his. I removed some stuffing from mine, but he thought his was the perfect size without adding or removing any (he is 6’0 with a large frame and broad shoulders). They do need fluffing about every 3-4 weeks as they will slowly flatten out - I actually ended up adding back a bit of the stuffing I had removed after about a month, so that I don’t have to fluff mine so often. I also turn mine 180 degrees every night, so that the filling my head pushed to one side the previous night is now right under my neck, but my husband, who sleeps on his back about 25% of the time and his side the rest, doesn’t think this is necessary (he’s a lot less picky than I am). I really like that neither of us have to add a second pillow underneath to get enough support now (he used to need the second pillow as well). I have less neck and shoulder pain now that I did with my old 2-pillow setup. I wasn’t sure about the bamboo cover before ordering, but it is honestly really soft, cool to the touch, and nice, so we both like sleeping on them. We use waterproof pillow protectors and regular pillowcases on these, though, in addition to the removable bamboo covers. I wasn’t sure how this would work before I bought the pillow, so I’ll explain what I did with ours: On my pillow, I removed the bamboo cover and put the pillow protector on, then put the bamboo cover over that, and then the pillowcase last. On my husband’s, I did not remove the bamboo cover, but put the pillow protector on top of it, and the pillowcase last (he drools in his sleep, and I didn’t want to have to wash the bamboo cover every time we change the sheets). Both of us find these setups comfortable.

The material does not disperse heat... very hot pillow, summer and winter.
