Win-D-Fender The Original Wind Guard and Acoustic Sound Monitor for Flute

Because it is windy in northern Indiana, this has been extremely helpful for my daughter as this year she has a solo which helps her keep good tone regardless of the wind

I got this to play for outdoor shoes and for indoor vivid precaution. I tried it for all of two minutes before throwing it back in my case. It's awkward to use and doesn't allow a good sound. If I'm outside forced to play in the wind, that's probably the only time I'll attempt to use this again. Super expensive for something that doesn't work all that well.

The entire flute section of the Marquette (Michigan) City Band is using them this summer and really like them. Not only do they help with the flutes being able to hear themselves when playing outdoors, but they do seem to significantly reduce the amount of air being blown straight out in front of the flute. We haven't conducted any scientific studies, so we don't really know about the amount of aerosols being released, but it sure appears to help!

I like to busk and this helps my sound continue in a gust of wind. The Defender distorts my sound a little but the benefit is greater this.

Originally I purchased this to be able to play outside better, but once covid struck, it found a second use defending from germs. Very thankful to have had this. It is durable, easy to use and clean, and has been worth the money many times over.Tone is slightly affected when using the product, but still sounds quite good.
