Sure, but probably best on the low heat setting.

how do you get the excess air out of the mylar bags?

Don't seal it completely inn one shot. Add 02 absorber. Create a slight angle to half way. Then another from opposite side. Squeezemost air out. Then final seal. I do this whole operation in just two seals. The angle is slight in order to reuse bag if possible. But itty is an angle. Some preppers say I'm wasting space for food in an already expensive bag and that the o2 absorber will do the rest. But this is what i do. To each their own. I know this is an old post but no one else said it. To each their own
