The real one...
We always wanted to try real Wasabi, but it was very hard to find. Even the local Japanese food stores didn't have it the last time we were in. Others on Amazon did contain some real Wasabi, but had other ingredients mixed with it and were of a higher price-point. This one was very reasonable. The taste is definitely different than the horseradish and hot mustard versions. Not quite as hot, but much more flavor. Easy to use and dispense due to the tube delivery. The strength is just right. Really makes a difference. You can use this on other foods other than just sushi. Mixed with soy sauce, sesame oil, and ginger is a favorite, and again, not just for sushi.

Teal wadab8 root. Ferl it in the nose.
It doesn't matter if I'm heating up Kimbap from Costco and letting it cool, I'm making sushi homemade by hand at home. This is my favorite wasabi. Affordable price it's the real Wasabi root always make sure the main ingredient is wasabia joponica. That is the real Wasabi root. And the little goes a long way so don't worry about the size of it too you're only putting out a nickel size amount per serving. Real wasabi you feeling your nose that's how you know it's the real deal it will just suddenly hit your nose and dissipate quickly. With a little spicy tinge in your mouth. The fake horseradish will bring your whole back of your throat and mouth and that really hit your nose. But the real deal does and real wasabi has a distinctive taste that is perfect for sushi and kimbap I will definitely on a regular basis be ordering this and probably go on to the auto subscribe cuz I never run out of this precious item

Authentic, long lasting, with perfect packaging.
Absolutely fabulous. Rich in flavour, perfectly balanced amount of heat. Color is natural, not like the fake neon horseradish crap you usually get in the US. Stays fresh in the fridge for months, without losing taste or discoloring. Squeezer puts out perfect portions, no mustard bottle like juice or hitting the bottom of a bottle; you can make presentation style dollops with ease. My advice, squeeze it to keep minimal air in the tube; it will last forever. Plus you get every little bit out.

bezos love
this was an OK product. I was seeking a Very Hot wasabi, and well, was only kind of hot. for the price I should have been burning my teeth out and snorting like a gob smacked horse. Oh well. I still love you Jeff!

A legitimate wasabi without horseradish.
I noticed that the "use by" date is this summer which is why they don't offer subscriptions. That said, it's a very tasty wasabi without that ugly green dye or horseradish. Perhaps a bit too mild.

real wasabi is a lot milder than horseradish "wasabi" you generally get in US
I hadn't had real wasabi root before, actually. But I'd read about how the green stuff we generally get at sushi restaurants in the US, even nice ones, is mostly horseradish and dye, maybe with a little actual wasabi. From what I understand, wasabi and horseradish are related roots/plants, but rather different, with the former being a lot more expensive, hence the common substitution. Well, this has a delicious, subtle flavor, but absolutely no kick, no sinus clearing spice, and generally isn't what I want when I think "wasabi" although I understand that's not authentic. We got this because our favored delivery sushi place never provides enough wasabi even when you order more on the side. For us, this just doesn't fulfill that purpose. But it was cool to find out what wasabi actually tastes like. It's yummy and might have other uses, but doesn't scratch the particular itch of craving horseradish "wasabi." Also, it's not dyed, which I like in theory, but in practice you eat with your eyes first and it's just not a pretty or vibrant color but kind of a bleh brownish green, like an old avocado. That said, it lasts a long time so we might find a great use for it yet, since we can keep it in the fridge until we figure out what to do with it. One last thing, we don't eat fish - strictly veggie sushi for us. I can see how this subtle flavor might compliment fish better. We have some vegan fish style sushi we buy sometimes (a vegan raw salmon) and I bet it would be really good on that, vs AAC etc.

Grateful To Finally Find Artificial Dye And Artificial Flavoring Free
I AM SO EXCITED, super happy! I LOVE wasabi! I use a lot and will find excuses just to use it. But I hate that every tube of wasabi paste had dye and flavoring in it. I try to avoid those things and it defeats the purpose to me because I donโt eat just for enjoyment but for health and healing. I am SOO glad and hype to find this brand. Of course it is a different texture and color than artificial wasabi paste but hey oh well, the flavor is great! I tried using just plain wasabi powder and actual wasabi root but for my needs, this fits my preferences a lot better in most cases.

Made in japan not neon green
Tiny tiny...I eat a lot of wasabi though. Delicious. Made in Japan No root to here to grind so it's close enough. Not the neon green in color though.
