New Addition To My Holistic Staples
I got tired of taking antihistamines for hay fever or plugging my ears in castor oil drenched cotton wool. When my allergies started flaring up June/July I commenced on research for natural alternative remedies to antihistamine tablets. This - bee pollen - was the result.I don't know what they are meant to taste or feel like, but these taste sweet and are on the hard side. They dissolve quickly in hot water or drinks. It froths a wee bit when dissolving and a little residue may remain at bottom of cup if not adequately stirred. I add them to my porridge/oats and teas as a sugar alternative. If energised enough, I would even add them to my baking. I have noticed an absence of my usual annoying hay fever symptoms in spite of the hot weather and high pollen counts.Because I heard some conflicting reviews and didn't know which brand to go for, I started with this 500g pack (there's smaller). It's decent, tastes acceptable, and most importantly, does what I want it to do - no more uncomfortable hay fever symptoms.Price-wise, I wish they were less expensive. Must state that this was very competitively priced for the 500g portion. I will keep an eye out for price drops and explore other brands to see how they compare then settle on a/ some fave(s).Although my main reason for buying was for hay fever, it's also great for gut health, immune system and other health issues I didn't care to look into. Please do your research, try a small portion to start and please check that you're not allergic to bee products. Very important.Happy healthy journey!PS: I dispensed mine into a jar. I can assure you looks exactly as pictured on listing.

Avoid at all costs
I tried to leave a '0 star' rating - although I'd prefer to give it 'minus-5' if I could. I have been eating Sevenhills organic bee pollen for years, but when I tried to reorder it was temporarily out of stock, so I tried this organic Bulgarian one instead. I usually eat a dessertspoonful, alone, off the spoon as I find the Sevenhills pollen sweet and delicious. However, this product has a very bitter and extremely unpleasant aftertaste, I found it utterly disgusting. I didn't think it tasted of bee pollen at all, more like something chemical. Less than a minute after eating it I had very intense nausea which lasted for 30 minutes and gradually wore off with the help of peppermint tea. Hours later I was awoken with an upset stomach, intense protracted nausea again and a bloated, burning and tender stomach. My stomach was very sore for 2 days and I ate very little for this time. I believe the product to be contaminated.

I can’t comment on he flavour as I give this to my 3 Westies, but they haven’t complained!Out of the numerous other packs of bee pollen I looked at this is amazing value for money, and good quality.I’ve already ordered again .
