Great, cheap way to eliminate rear end sag on Astro vans!
The shocks work great. I purchased them to stop the rear end sag I had in my Astro van when it was loaded with work materials. Instead of adding another leaf to my springs I ordered these shocks and springs all in one. They work great! The old shocks were worn out anyhow so I got both in one easy cost effective unit. The van kept its soft feel over bumps, lifted the rear an inch and corners better. Install was a snap thanks to my neighbour suggesting I put a 4x4 board under the spare tire and lift the body with a jack. Otherwise the new shocks will be about a inch too long to line up with the bolt holes.I know it's hard to see with the two pics I have but the first is how it sat with no materials in it and the second is how it sits now with about 400 lbs in the back.Great purchase in my opinion. Kinda wish they made a set for the front!

great heavy duty shocks
The price for these were/are fair. They are working as they are supposed to. Elevated my van about an inch which is fine by me. When I put a load on it, it should be perfect.

Feel nicer than the opponants red coilovers
Use a ratchet strap to install. Way easier than using a second jack to maneuver the shock lower into position. Between the new tires, cheap helper leaf spring, and these Monroe coilovers, my 99 Astro is riding better than ever! I did have to add a second large washer on the pass. side upper so the shock didn't rub the frame rail. If these fail me, I'll update, but I anticipate nothing but smooth sailing. Did not make the rear of the van bounce around like and empty pickup truck. Did get rid of all the squish.

Really nice shocks for my 2000 gmc safari
Arrived quickly and they really made my van more stable on the rear ,is a little stiff but I dont mind because of the extra weight plus I have weak leaf springs ,after replacing the shocks the rear end lifted bout one inch, really good value for the money .

I immediately noticed much better handling and braking while driving around for the past ...
You can't go wrong with Monroe shocks. I installed these load adjusting shocks on my '05 Chevy Astro a few months ago and they have really made a huge difference. I immediately noticed much better handling and braking while driving around for the past few months. Today, I finally got a chance to pull a trailer with it. A huge difference that I noticed right away was that I had to raise the trailer coupler higher than I did before in order to get it over the trailer ball. When I pulled the trailer in the past, I was almost scraping the ground with the extreme sagging that was happening. Now there is almost no sagging noticed at all, even under the heavy load that I was pulling today. A word of advice is to install Monroe OE Spectrums on the front end at the same time. They work great with these load adjusters.

Noticeable Difference
I put these on the back of a 2003 Chevy Astro Van to replace a fairly new set of shocks that were not performing the way I needed them to. I regularly use my van to haul various types of equipment, and figured that these would help with some of the sagging in the rear when heavily loaded. These are NOT a fix-all for treating a 1/2 ton medium van as if it were a full size 3/4 ton, but they do make a noticeable difference in the way the vehicle handles on the road. The rear end feels more sure of itself, and has lost some of the spongy/bouncy characteristics that used to be there. This difference is especially noticeable at freeway speeds around some of the wide curves in the wonderful "spaghetti bowl" in Salt Lake City. Nice upgrade. Would recommend.

Nice product
Totally took the lean in the corners away from our Safari Van. Some say they lifted their vehicles about 1-2” but just stiffened up the ride on our van.

Won’t find better price for two
Area parts dealer wanted double what I paid for on Amazon. You get two shocks. Straight forward install on my 2005 GMC Safari. Did increase rear end height. Very satisfied.

Work great for a slightly overloaded Safari!
Work great for a slightly overloaded Safari! Gained about 3/4" in height and handles better.

Work as expected
They do exactly what they are supposed to. You get a noticeably rougher, less comfortable ride, but the vehicle is raised by about an inch and a half when unloaded and even more when loaded. Just like most other reviewers said. My van was sagging and these solved my problem for a fraction of the cost of replacing leaf springs. Very satisfied.
