Was the best packaging tape deal on amazon, until it doubled in price....
Update 0400521: Came back to order more, discovered it's nearly doubled in price, in less than a year. We are so tired of this trend from third party vendors on amazon! There's absolutely no legit reason for prices to fluctuate that much, that fast. We've left our original review below, as our thoughts on the product quality hasn't changed, aside for it not sticking to cardboard quite as well as we'd like. But obviously our search for an honest supplier continues...Don't you just hate going to reorder something you like and trust, but bought a year or more ago, to discover either the price has shot WAY up or it's no longer available at all? The later seems to be the case more often than not with packaging supplies especially. No matter how well rated, every year there is a whole new host of new brands to choose from, meaning another hour or three trying to make sense of all the conflicting reviews of unfamiliar brands and trying to see which is the best value. Well, as of a month ago, when we purchased this tape, it was without question the best value we found. And after shipping a couple dozen boxes, we're convinced of it's quality, especially for the money. We can only hope that they're still around, and still just as competitively priced in a year or two, which based on our meager shipping is probably about when we'll need more. These are large rolls that fit typical industrial tape dispensers (you know the kind with a large pistol grip); large rolls that make full use of your dispenser, why so many companies bother with the half-size rolls (or smaller!) I don't understand. The tape itself is medium weight - thick enough that it doesn't wrinkle up if you're not super careful, but it's not going to be ideal for heavy packages, like shipping audio amplifiers or receivers. It's a great weight balance for most typical package weights. It's not so super clear that you can read writing on the paper core. Though, I've never quite understood why anyone would need it to be. It may look yellow on the roll, but it doesn't look remotely yellow when applied. We completely cover the tracking barcode on packages we ship with it, and even when using an inkjet printer set on economy ink saving mode, which prints a medium gray, it's still easily transparent enough for the post office to scan through the tape.Obviously, it sticks like glue to poly mailers. Some have commented that the type of adhesive this type of tape uses, as commonplace as it is, can pull up when applied to cardboard. We haven't noticed that problem ourselves, and tested some before using it to see if after several days it was showing any signs of losing adhesion. So far it seems as sticky as even heavier duty brands we've purchased in the past costing over twice as much. I can only assume if it came loose for someone, either they had bad set, something that I've never seen in 20 years of buying packaging tape, even from the cheapest made brands, or they failed to apply it properly, as most manufacturers recommend rubbing it in. I believe warming up the glue in such a way makes it adhere better. We'll usually go over it with a wood roller a couple times, but just rubbing it in with your finger tips does the job. Of course, making sure the roller on the dispenser presses against the box correctly should work too.A great price on good tape. Easy to recommend, all things considered.

Better than Uline S-743 Industrial Plus Tape
We had been ordering a lot of packing tape from Uline and thought I'd give this PackStrong brand a try given that it's slightly thicker at 2.7 mil versus Uline's 2.6 mil Industrial Plus Tape. When comparing prices, both Uline & PS offer 36 rolls per case with identical specs, 2" wide at 110 yard length, except for slight difference in thickness. But with PackStrong we saved 41.5% compared to Uline. After shipping costs are considered the PackStrong tape is about 1/2 the cost and every bit as good if not better. My only regret is that I wish I'd found PackStrong tape months ago.

As expected for the most part! Love the thickness & amount per roll
Normally buy a cheaper thinner take for packing products, but I wanted something thicker because I was in the process of a huge move & packing up most of my personal items for long term storage. This is definitely worth every penny. I have a small e-commerce business, just me from printing the packing slip to boxing for shipping. I worked in a much larger business for years doing the exact same thing for my employer, so I know tape. You absolutely don’t need to worry about it being so thin it breaks rendering the roll useless. I use 100 gauge black wrap to cover the outside of packages sometimes, this is great because I use much less than before. This is also great for adding extra protection where the edges might snag & wrap come off in transit.People complained about it not being sticky enough, but I Didn’t have a problem with it. Yes it probably was less sticky than others I’ve used but it did it’s job, and stayed in place. A huge perk, not having to change it out as often because it’s 3x the amount of most other tapes. If you ship your own products, please be aware this will add to your shipping weight. But customers have committed on the quality of my packing & quality of the materials used for shipping. Now the only thing I did not like about it: it was a real struggle to fit on my standard tape gun. I know it’s supposed to be a snug fit, but I surely got my cardio in after wrestling it into place.I also purchased this from amazon warehouse deals, it only had 4 rolls in it. It was not noted in the description that there was less than stated in the listing. Amazon did give me a credit so I kept it since there was no time to wait for a return & a replacement to be sent. All in all, I will continue to purchase this as long as the price stays around $20 for the 6 rolls. Which at the time of purchase, it was 6 rolls of 330 ft per roll.

Not strong adhesive tape
Not the best tape I've bought, its not heavy duty. Packing tape lifts off the boxes, have to use more tape to keep the box sealed for shipping. This tape is like the other generic brands, I expected the tape to match the listing photos description. Disappointed, moving on to another brand. Won't buy again.

VERY LOUD When dispensing this tape.
It is packing tape. It works but it is SOOOOOO LOUD when you pull the tape from the roll. You don't want to be in a small to medium sized room when you use this stuff. Many times when using this stuff I wanted to grab a set of ear plugs. I tend to pack up my orders in the evening when it is relatively quiet. So when I pull on this tape you can hear it all over the house. The tape is OK on how it sticks to boxes. Not the best but usable. The strength is good for most of my needs. Did not have any problems with the tape tearing when I was trying to apply it to packages. If I need something stronger, I use a 3mil tape. It is not so great on recycled boxes but not many brands are. I like Tape King much better. I would have got it the last time I needed packing tape but they were out. Tried this stuff as an alternative to Tape King. Would not get it again. I did not notice a strong smell.
