Global Vision Eyewear Hercules Safety Glasses

I love these glasses. I have gone through several pairs because I lose them occasionally (they've never broken). I use them as regular sunglasses, I've traveled around the world with them, I can stuff them in a pocket or in a backpack without worrying about breaking them, I use them as safety glasses when working with machinery that requires them, and I wear them on my motorcycle. They're just all-around great. Oh, and you can't beat the price. The only thing I would prefer is if they made them photochromic--but then the price would go up drastically, I'm sure.UPDATE:I've now been purchasing these glasses for five years. I still love them, but there's three things I don't love:1) They're bulky. I would prefer it if the folded up flatter so I could comfortably put them in a jacket pocket.2) The lenses do scratch fairly easily. They never break, but the lenses do eventually get scratched to the point where they're unusable.3) They're not polarized or photochromic. If these glasses were polarized it would be so much nicer! Ditto for photochromic, but that's a way more expensive expectation.

This is probably the 3rd pair of these sunglasses that I have. They're comfortable and do a great job blocking sun, plus they're pretty cool looking.

These glasses really are the best glasses that are almost indestructible. For normal use, these glasses will easily last a very very long time. I bought 3 pair of these, 1st on eBay, and then 3 more pair here on amazon (2 for friends). I tested a pair out with running over them with my car (1 eBay pair). Each time the lenses popped out, which were easy to put back in. The frames lasted 6 run-overs until they broke and 1 lens bent in half, but I was able to pop it back into place. The lens got scratched and the one lens that bent in half had a crease in the middle which made viewing through it a little difficult. Had I not lost one lens (it flew into some bushes during a run-over), I could actually still where the glass as the frames were still connected, just broken around the lens area. If you're looking for a strong pair of glasses that could last a lifetime (aside from losing them), then these glasses are a great purchase. For $5 and being almost indestructible, how can that deal be beat.

I bought these a ways back because Global Vision claimed they were almost unbreakable. Before I bought these glasses, I would go through a pair of sunglasses every three to six months because I am hard on my sunglasses and would inevitably break them within three to six months. These shades have lived up to my expectations and then some. I have yet to be able to break them no matter what abuse I put them through. I rated them four stars because although they are durable, the lenses are prone to scratching, and the yellow tint is best suited to lower lighting conditions to increase contrast. You would probably be better off getting a pair in their "smoke" color if you are looking for shades that well, actually shade. Overall a very good pair of sunglasses.

I've had these glasses for about a year now, and they're still in good shape with minimal scratches and much abuse I might add! I mainly wear these on my cycling trips, and I have to say, these sun glasses make everything look much brighter and vivid for a low price.(Very yellow, obviously.)There's only one thing about these sun glasses that I don't like, they look silly. They're big, and I've had some people say I look like I'm a snow boarder, because the lenses are a bit bigger than average. I've gotten use to it now, though.

Purchased these glasses for night riding on bike. They fit comfortably on all family members and seem to be okay. Glare is fair, but not terrible. I also purchased one pair of more expensive night glasses and they do make a difference. But for they serve the purpose I bought them for. I would recommend them for light ware, but not for every day glasses or for driving.

these glasses arrived quickly and in new condition with tags. they worked great for my halloween costume, are sturdy and comfortable.my only complaint and reason for a 4 star product instead of 5 stars is the glasses fog a bit with any exertion while being worn, similar to goggles without vents.perfect for my use however and an excellent value!

Picked these up for running in the evening to protect my eyes from gnats and bugs. Added benefit, they help brighten things up in inclement weather or dusk. The fit is ok, but not great.

These are excellent value for money. They fit comfortably under a full face helmet and work effectively as sunglasses, allowing good vision and cutting glare effectively. They appear tough, living up to their unbreakable reputation. Although they are not the most stylish sunglasses on the market, they perform very well and at this price they just can't be faulted. Since having these, I've also bought the yellow tinted versions for low light / night riding.

Perfect but already lost

Served me well so far. These are not unbreakable - if I stood on them, they would break. If I sat on them, they would break. They are resistant to breaking, though. That is, if you drop them, they won't break, and if you leave them rattling inside a backpack with other things bashing in to them, they'll probably be alright although you may risk scratching the lenses. I have had mine two years now. They have survived some use, as I've used them while riding my motorcycle and also when driving buses and coaches in my job, plus commuting to and from work. With regular use they are still going strong.A good, effective, practical pair of glasses. Only in the brightest of sun do I still have to squint slightly when I'm driving. It's a shame they weren't supplied with a hard case though. You just get a little bag, that offers no protection against impact damage. I put mine in a hard storage case when not in use.

Having had variable experiences with wearing sunglasses designed for bikers, these have so far beaten all of the others. The flat arms slide easily inside the helmet when putting them on and they rest very comfortably behind the ears without any pressure from the helmet liner being applied to your head or ears. The lenses seem as sturdy as I had anticipated and the flexibility of the frame reduces the chance of the frames cracking or showing any signs of fatigue.I would have given these 5 stars if it had not have been for the following:The frame is a little too wide, which causes the glasses to be held in place by the helmet, rather than by sitting on the rider's ears face and ears. This in turn affects the way in which the nose-bridge of the glasses fit on your nose, making them less comfortable than they should be. They are not particularly stylish either, but I bought these for function over style and so far they have not let me down.

I have bought a couple of other pairs of wraparound sunglasses from Amazon/ebay before and gone for the very cheapest. Both times they have been ok but not really comfy and have broken after what I would consider a short time.This pair - at only a few pounds more - are far superior. They fit comfortably and there is some flex in the frame which I hope means they'll last longer.Happy to recommend.UPDATE:Just bought my second pair of these excellent sunglasses. And I'm only replacing them because my dog chewed the arms of the last pair! Great fit and comfortable. I wear them as everyday sunnies, but also as my running/cycling glasses when the weather's good. On my head, they fit quite close to the brow which keeps out the sun nicely. Really pleased with the first pair which I'm sure would still be going strong if it wasn't for Max...
