Changuito: A Master's Approach to Timbales, Book & Online Audio Paperback – January 1, 1998

A great book and CD a lot of information and notations on timbales and difrent rhythms.

I have been a pro drummer (mostly drumset) for over 50 years, but I always like to keep up with the best material available. This book and CD is very informative in the approach to playing the instrument and getting familiar with the music. As a drum instructor, I highly recommend this material to my students.

I have read the 20% of the book. The reading is going great. There are some parts I be confused like reading the music timing, but since I took some music courses I kinda get it. Also, if you have a drummer friend to show you, it be easy too. I am still reading the book. I would update again. I am liking the different timing for the latin music.

Pure waste of money. Yes, JLQ is the best timbale player in the world, but it doesn't come out on the book/Cd. His real mastery comes out with what he calls "mama-daddy" or doubles; once you can become proficient at that then you can almost make the timbales talk, but it takes many hours working at it. Doubles, 2 strokes on each hand that is the real mastery of JLQ which really doesn't come out on the book/cd, don't waste your money and space this big book takes up.
