Fantastic pump and support
Fantastic pump...quiet, efficient, and reliable. After three years, I noticed it wasn’t pumping as much water as it did when it was new. I contacted customer support, and they suggested that the impeller might be the issue. They first instructed me to clean it out and try again, but the problem continued.I let them know, and they promptly sent me a replacement impeller. After installing it, the pump works like new again.Absolutely the best customer support team ever. Highly recommend both the pump and this company.DGP

great power, quality and price!
ive had this pump working great for 5 years. It just kicked the bed today but I honestly put it through the ringer and it held up time and time again. its been on nonstop pumping a 3k gallon pond full of fish, plants and ducks and even when it was almost completely clogged it would only slow down and not stop. For the price I paid, I thought I would need to replace this every two years! Highly recommend! if you treat yours right you'll probably get 10+ years out of it and not loose pressure. Happily buying a new one now.

Great Waterfall Pump & How to Calculate what Flow Rate you need.
This pump is a powerhouse, putting out a real 3100GPH. Has more power than a typical sump pump and a little smaller in size. It is so powerful that I used a dimmer switch to make a variable control for it and it works great.* I use it to power a waterfall of about 8ft height and 25ft from the small pond (about 250gal) where it is submerged. This pump is as good as pumps twice the price. As with all outdoor pumps, be sure to use a bag filter with a thick media mesh inside. Most only have a top hole like the one I have, but I just cut an outlet hole on the side near the bottom so the pump can sit upright (intake on bottom). Also of course you need to take any pump out in the winter when the water can freeze as any residual water in it will also freeze and destroy it. I highly recommend this Alpine Cyclone pump.Calculating the Flow Rate you need for a Waterfall:To calculate the flow rate you need multiply the number of feet wide your waterfall is by 1500 and that will give you the gph (gallons/hour) flow rate you need. Then find a pump that has a similar flow rate at the height of your waterfall outlet (vertical distance between the pump and the waterfall outlet. For example, if you look at the chart I attached, you will see that this pump has a flow rate of 2251gph at 5' and 1390 at 10' and using the graph I made (under the chart), you will see that at 8' the flow rate is ~1800gph. While this is a little more than what I needed, it is better to be high than low as you can always decrease the flow rate by using a smaller tubing or by regulating the power to the pump.* Hope this has helped!*I'm sure you can by a variable speed control somewhere but I just took a light dimmer switch and spliced it into a 3-prong outdoor extension cord so I can plug it into the outlet and then plug the pump into the other end. Just make sure that the switch can handle the watts. Most light dimmers have a 600W or1000W max rating but your pump's watts should be less than 75% of the dimmer's rating. For instance, looking at the attached chart you will see that this pump uses 2.3A at 120VAC which is 276W (W=VxA) so there is no problem using a 600w dimmer but if you had a PAL8000 which uses 540W, you would need to use a 1000W dimmer since it is over 75% of a 600W max dimmer (75% of 600W is 450W).

Great pump... it finally bit the dust
I purchased this pump in September of 2022. It's broken down once, leaking water last summer. We fixed it and now the same thing has happened again. All the other pumps I've purchased on Amazon have broken down within 3 months, so I'm set to purchase another one of these because it has great power and seems to work the best out of all of them.

This pump along with UV filters is fantastic. It is so easy to set up and since it comes with a long cord that can go underwater the extension enables me to run it to my shed. I turn it off the few times leaves actually get trapped in it. Not only that, compared to my old pump where the basket let in leaves all the time and I had to clean out with a stick and the flow was week by comparison. Now my string algae is gone by turning off the other pump that flows down the rocks and using the one that goes directly to the water and let the string algae die. Then by using this pump with a very strong flow of water through UV lights, I can see the fish again. It still has the green medium but it is the harmless algae not the string algae. We are in a drought and had spring and some summer rain - not much but it was enough to spread algae. We usually only have winter rain and this year had none. Winter rain is much cleaner. Anyway I love this pump! It's a great buy. You just unscrew the bottom like you would any top and you will find maybe one leaf or two got in! I have used it now for a few months. I have 35 year old fish that came with my place as well as a 10 year old fish and another one and I am so glad to see them again. I was afraid it would be another disappointment but it's not. Others tried to upsell me I have a large pond maybe 4' deep -that's the secret to no raccoons, they cannot swim! Has to be deeper than the raccoons they still try...i see the rocks falling in from time to time or disheveled...I am very happy now I can go away without worrying! No one likes to deal with mypond:(

Great pump for pond
We built a small 1,500 gallon pond for our backyard and were referred by a friend to use the Alpine Cyclone pump. The first one we bought was fantastic and lasted almost 4 years. The amount of water this pushes through our 3-ft tall cascade is awesome, and it's really easy to set up and clean. We house our pump at the bottom of our skimmer, so it runs constantly day and night except for when we turn it off for routine cleaning. When our first pump finally died, we liked it so well that we bought a second one. Unfortunately, the impeller on the inside was defective and the pump broke down after a few months. We reached out to Alpine's customer service through their website because the pump has a warranty, and the representative Judy was great! She got our problem resolved immediately and our pond was back up and running within a matter of days. I feel like I'm writing this review just as much for the excellent customer service we received as I am for the great pond pump; it's just great to see a company back up their product the way Alpine did for us. We'll be customers for life.

Zero product support.
I have to revise my earlier opinion. I spoke to quickly. The pump I purchased worked magnificently until it suddenly stopped. I follow the trouble shooting instructions and when that didn’t work I tried contacting the company with no success and was very frustrated. I finally did indeed hear from them and they solved the issue with great patience. I can attest that their customer service is superb once you are able to reach them and a lovely person named Eve was extremely helpful. I want to reiterate their products work beautifully.

Great waterfall pumps
Overall, these are fantastic pumps. I own several of them for various water features around my property, and they really move the water. It makes my waterfalls look great! These pumps also effectively pump a higher elevation than some other pumps I have used in the past, in which the flow decreased substantially with more elevation lift. In all these Alpine pumps I have had, I’ve only had one of them arrive not working, and the Alpine company took care of it promptly. I like to zip tie the plastic filter cover onto the pump so that it doesn’t get knocked off so easily. If not running a pump for an extended period, I have found it much better to pull it out of the water than to let sediment settle into it or let it freeze.

Nice pump.
First thing I noticed with this pump is the weight. Heavy for a pump this size. Good because I don't want it moving around and usually means well made.Plugged in after things got connected and so far.....it is a beast. Everything is running well. Love the amount of water flow and definitely not disappointed. So nice to have our water sounds back again.I really like the fact that the parts(and part numbers) are labeled in the little booklet. This tells me that I should be able to get parts easily when needed, as most likely down the road the impeller will fail(usually the part that does). The only thing I will say is that if you are using both supplied adapters(like me) that come with it, there is only one supplied rubber washer. I have to use both as the input part is pulling through my pond filtration. Really should have two included. But so far that is my only pick.As it stands if you are looking for a nice pump I would totally recommend this pump.If there are any changes(hopefully not)....I will update my review to reflect.

Donde compro los adaptadores de manguera?
La bomba funciona bien es versátil porque puede funcionar tanto sumergible como externa. Pero los adapatadores de manguera se rompieron y no los encuentro en las ferreterias

Good pump!
We use it for our fish pond. It takes the water to our filter. Great work. We followed the suggestion from another user and have it connected to a light dimmer to reduce or increase the flow. Perfect solution if you think it is too powerful. We are very happy with it!
