Excellent Product

This product is a great idea, but it requires a Hubbell mounting box. The installation screws are off-centered, and will not fit/align in a standard old work or new work box. No where does it state these needs until AFTER you open the package and start reading the installation procedures. It also comes with two weird components that also mount in the (Hubbell) box. I could not figure out what they were for... maybe noise isolation/cancellation? I am not sure. There are other manufacturers offering this product... check out Certicable, Lutron, or Leviton. Certicable's colors are limited, though. I have checked other Hubbell products. For me, if it says Hubbell, I will move on. For me, this product gets only 1 star, because of the idea. Also, there is a 50% + re-stock fee. Wasted money!

Was not aware that this outlet required a special box.

hated it , could not find a box that i could mount outlet in ?screws on unit are off centered .threw it away wasted 50 dollars on it .

We purchased and returned one of these outlets. After conferring with a Tech Support representative at Hubbell., we returned the part. There are too many limitations and extra parts needed and too little pre-purchase information on packaging to allow consumers to make an informed purchase.1) The configuration flexibility is wonderful.2) Because the installation requires both high voltage and low voltage/data wires in close proximity, these wires must be separated for safety and efficiency3) The installation requires one of at least 3 style Hubbell boxes to be completed properly: in wall box, under cabinet box or in floor box. Boxes from other manufacturers will not work and cannot be substituted.4) Separators are not always included with the plugs or boxes. A different separator is needed for each type of box. Nothing is interchangeable or compatible with other manufacturer's equipment.5) The in wall box---the one most attractive to those installing this plug behind a TV being hung on a wall--is a "new box" which requires access to a stud or other permanent support. It is an inappropriate or impossible option for those who are doing "old work" or a retrofit.It wouldn't take much for Hubbell to elevate this rating to 5 stars. Create complete packages for the most common installations which includes a plug, various line connectors (which they already offer), the proper box and its corresponding shield. The best offerings would be for under counter installations, retrofit installations in an existing wall and a new work in-wall package for new construction.

Great idea, but it doesn't fit a standard electrical gang box

this is a piece of junk. the holes don't line up with a standard box. when I finally got it to line up the bottom tab broke off

Sixty bucks for a wall plate?? How many people even use a CAT5 or 6 cable these days any more? I can see the limited use for a product like this, but I sure can't see any Value here folks!
