Cost effectiveness
I have compared this against units which cost 3 to 4 times more. Working on Japanese cars professionally, it is rare that I need an interface for the purpose of CAN high and CAN low testing, or other functions of the OBDII diagnostic port. I used this yesterday with a very old school snap on MT 2500 just see if serial data was being transmitted. Not only does it show a logic probe style of blink on the serial bus, it shows system voltage and ground integrity. The first opportunity to check controller area network function in combination with my PICO scope, I'll report back. As of now, it's performing flawlessly.

This tool is some what a great ideal of a tool.
This tool is some what a great ideal of a tool. I just like some other been having problem with this tool. With the one I have pin4 signal ground didn't work and the leds for Can-L and Can-H.. fix pin4 signal ground. Still need to fix Can high and low leds. But lease I know it's working.

Stopped working 2nd time I used it.
The media could not be loaded. Initially I thought the tool was awesome. It read the correct system voltage and displayed it and you could see the Ken bus lights flicker on the box showing activity. I loved itBut when I went to use it the next day it wasn’t working correctly. It did not flash the LEDs to show any bus activity. None of LEds ON THE BOX the were lit except for the both grounds lines on pins 4&5. And the battery voltage was not being displayed (showed 0.00 v and voltage measured with dvm on box pin 16 was 0v).When I first used it you could see bus activity and read the voltage.I may have just got a dud. Another reviewer said they had a similar experience. I’m waiting for the replacement to come.
