XL or 2X is the size for a 34" waist. S = 26" - 28" waist M = 28" - 30" waist L = 30" - 32" waist XL = 32" - 34" waist 2X = 34" - 36" waist 3X = 36" - 38" waist

Small = 26" waist, Medium = 28" waist, Large = 30" waist, XL = 32" waist, 2X = 34" waist, 3X = 36" waist. They are highly stretchy and run a little big, so if you're between sizes, go down a size. If you're bigger than a 36" waist, the 3X should fit you, within reason.
