I've been cutting my own hair for about 4 years now and used many different hair products. My go-to produced used to be Pacino's Pomade which had a great hold and I didn't mind the high shine finish, but the hold completely fell apart and turned my hair into a greasy mess on a hot summer day.Then I turned to clay products, which tend to offer decent hold without shine. I was recommended Baxter of California's clay pomade. The hold was honestly worthless and suffered the same issues as Pacino's with being outside in the heat. Harry's has a texturizing putty and I gave that a shot for a while, and while the hold was decent, it falls apart after it dries out in the hair.Finally I found Goodfellow & CO's texturizing fiber, blue sage and tonka. This product used Kaolin clay which has a really strong hold and has a natural finish that looks like you're not even using product. Even after working outside in the sun and drying out, it still held the hair to shape while looking and feeling like it wasn't there. That product was discontinued and that's when I found Blind Barber hair clay which also uses Kaolin Clay. It's almost identical to the texturizing fiber I had been using with a nice coconut scent.TLDR: Strong hold, natural finish, and stays with you all day. Best $18 I've spent and there's enough product to last 2 months easily.Some tips: don't use too much or the product will clump into white particles in your hair. I'm using about a pinky tip sized amount, so use your own discretion based on your hair length. Really rub it around in your fingertips before you work it into your hair. This stuff is a bit tacky and that's normal to achieve the hold, it's going to pull on your hair a bit when you apply it.

I like the end result of this product for the most part but have a few issues. It's very difficult to apply. It's extremely sticky and tugs on my hair. Other people have said it applies easily, so maybe this problem is unique to me for some reason. When it dries it leaves my hair feeling very dry and gritty. I would not call it very pliable either. That being said, I like the way it looks, so gave it 4 stars. I'd probably have given it more like 3 1/2 stars if I could.

This clay is great. I have a short spikey pixi and holds my hair all day. Its not stiff and washes out with shampoo. It last a long time a little goes a long way!

Ingredient list information was a little misleading. Why is not listed in any of the product information? It really sells itself looking like it’s VERY few ingredients and it’s not the case. Have not used it yet but surprised to find this large of a list that included PEGs. Pretty disappointing. I never really write reviews but I use to use RED ONE matte finish but it was way to stiff and after the first time u apply u can’t move your hair and fix it with this product I fell in love u could apply to your hair and still move and mess with your hair product looks like u don’t have nothing on no wet finish at all I like the more natural look and I finally found the product that suits me the best smells really good and isn’t to sticky on your hand ether really would give this product a try if your searching for something new !!
