Vis Viva Combination Folding Bike Lock with High Security Hardened Steel Metal and Innovative Design

This bike lock is overall very nice it folds up very compactly and stows on its included mount.There is a design flaw - when it is secured to the included mount the sliding lock pin will keep it secured, but a little shaking causes the pin to slide out unlocking it from the mount and the next bump would cause it to bounce free and fall off. I’m using one of those wrist band rubber band like bracelets to keep the lock pin from sliding open.It is more secure than a cable lock and would take a little more work to defeat.No bike lock will stop someone who is determined to steal your bike - this is a nice compromise that will deter some theives or at least slow them down from just walking off with your bike.

this lock essentially is a strong linked chain that curls around itself for transport on the bikeas a lock it is solid.the problem is the mounting to the bike. it relies on the central plunger to keep the whole lock from falling off. EXCEPT that the plunger in the unlocked state does not hold in place. So I have lost one already while just riding on a road surface, and my wife's has fallen out as well.So you either have to carry the lock in a backpack (or panier) or you have to use a strap to hold it in its mount. Neither of which is a good solution

The combo lock is tricky to use and it's very heavy.

I really wanted to like this lock. I bought one a year ago, set the code, played with it a little bit and mounted it on my bike. I showed it off to a friend of mine and he wanted one too. A couple of days later, was the 4th of July. I took my boys on a bike ride down to the fireworks. Just before the fireworks, we found a spot to lock up our bikes. I removed the lock from the bike, threaded it through the bikes and- COULD NOT LOCK THE LOCK.Somehow, the combination changed itself to- I have no idea. I know what I set it to, because its the same code I always use. I spent the entire firework show trying to figure the damn thing out. No luck. The next day I tried rolling through every possible code - i don't know where I stopped- but I never got it open.A year later, (almost exactly) I spotted these locks again. I thought- must have been a fluke. I ordered 2 more. Yesterday, my two boys and I went for a ride. Got to the store and- COULD NOT LOCK THE LOCK--- AGAIN. WTF!!! I'm done with the mystery combination changing.Returning these to Amazon - I just ordered the keyed version... Fingers Crossed.

overall the design is great but the pin that allows you to remove it from the mount and open the lock is faulty (slide pin)as I ride the bike just on a normal road if I dismount from a curb the pin vibrates open and lock falls off on to the floor .. I nearly lost it if I did not look . I cam up with a temp solution I put a rubber band to stop the pin from sliding out and popping off. ( if I were to suggest something makes the pin magnetic )Due to the fact that i nearly lost it one star

I ordered this lock to replace one i had that was on a bike that fell off my truck! This one was a combination lock and i never got it to work! The last one had a key to open it! It was very easy! This one wasn’t easy

Bought this lock last year. Worked fine for a while. Then, today, i took the lock off and it would not go back on. The pin will not shut all the way. There is no way for me to fix it.Piece of crap!
