Great Products from a Great Company!
Great customer service from UST!I stretched the tarp a little tight the first time & one of the loops started to pull away from the seam (it never pulled out though & the tarp is still usable). I couldn't get any help from Amazon within the return period, so I contacted UST directly through their website's "contact us".Without hesitation Josh offered to send me a new Tube Tarp, no need to return the original one. Unfortunately the replacement I received was a Hex Tarp, not a Tube Tarp. I offered to return it. Josh offered again without hesitation to replace that one, telling me to keep it, too. At that point I asked if I the replacement could be a green Tube Tarp even though I purchased an orange one. Again, without hesitation, the answer was yes.Despite the USPS's delivery problems, I now have two Tube Tarps (one green!) & a Hex Tarp for the price of one. My shelter possibilities are endless.BTW- Did I mention that the tarps are great quality? Versatile, strong, light & waterproof. Because they're aluminized on the underside they're reflective, insulating & fire resistant. (They're NOT bulletproof or edible though. ;-) ) They all come with lines & stakes in a stuff sack with shelter setup instructions on it. Pretty complete package. Great company.Thank you Josh & UST.In the picture I have the Tube Tarp set up as a hammock shelter on it's own independent ridgeline. This shelter setup is completely suspended, nothing anchored to or touching the ground. It's rainproof, windproof & self balancing. Because the hammock & the shelter are on independant ridgelines either one can swing or stay still while the other one swings or stays still. I used old tent poles I had as spreaders, but a lot of different things could be used. It works without the middle spreader, but it feels more open underneath with it, and it slightly enlarges the coverage area. I used water bottles as balancing weights because they were convenient @ home. On the trail you could use whatever's handy- extra gear, rocks, sandbags, water bags- you don't need much. The spreaders & lines are attached through/to the tarp's loops. Very easy. For some reason there are no loops in the middle of the ends the long way, so I used two tarp clips. Problem solved.Another way to use the Tube Tarp with this hammock setup when it gets colder is to zip the Tube Top around the HAMMOCK ridgeline & the hammock together. Use prusik hitches on the hammock ridgeline attached to the loops on the tarp to position it. Then slide into the hammock in the tube & now your in a hammock in a Tube Tarp Tent off the ground. Very cozy.Wanna make a great Quick Deploy Ridgeline? Check out Corporal's Corner "My New Ridgeline System" video on Youtube.

Amazing tarp. Great for hammocking
This is probably one of the best $30 I've ever spent. The Good:- Combined with a hammock and some paracord I can camp anywhere and it rolls into a tight little ball for storage. The 2in1 tarp tent is well done, but since you need 2 trees to make it a tent there's really not much reason to use it as such. If you're not going to camp with a hammock just buy a tent because this isn't enclosed (it's just a tube with 2 open ends). It could easily be set up with poles though if you have them.-I use it as a blanket sometimes, and with the heat reflective inside it works as a sleeping bag rated for maybe 50F. If you put on a sweater and long pants it works even better.-Mosquitoes can't get you through it. If it's buggy out they can get me through my hammock/clothes. I sometimes sleep with it wrapped around me with just my face sticking out and they can't bite you thru it.The Bad:-If you use it as a blanket it will trap your body moisture since it's waterproof. Sometimes you have to choose, though, between dampness and getting eaten alive.-If you don't hang it just right, water rolls back in from the edges during a rain and will get you wet. That's not a product defect just a disclaimer.Other: Hanging it in a square configuration it's NOT long enough to fully cover a hammock. It will cover it mostly but if you get rained on the ends of the hammock stick out and it's going to funnel the water back onto you. I mention this because some notable reviews say that it IS long enough . To cover a hammock from rain it needs to be set up in a diamond configuration.

Tube tarp/rainfly/emergency blanket/shade
This just arrived in a very timely manner. I havent used mine yet, but it seems sturdy and reliable. After much searching for a rain tarp, I ended up buying this one because of its versatility and price. It can be used as an emergency tube tarp in a tent configuration 7' in length, a rain tarp 10'x7' in square or diamond configuration, an emergency blanket for atleast two people since it has a heat reflective inner surface and an easliy visible outer surface, a heat reflective shade with the reflective side outwards, etc etcThe price is very affordable comapred to other tube tarps and it comes with 6 stakes and a bit of chordage to set it up. The chord is a very bright orange. It may be some 275 paracord but I'm not sure.I bought this to set up with a skeeter beeter i just bought here on amazon which was also a great buy. The only dislike I have is the fact that all my gear is camo/OD green whie this thing is bright orange. I have seen some people spray paint theirs, but it takes several cans of paint to cover the 70 sq ft, and this removes the emergency safety part of it. What I did was to buy a couple of camo hunting mesh right off amazon as well. The mesh is 60"x96" which requires two to barely cover the area of the tarp. I may use some yarn later to turn this into a "ghillie" cover. This takes care of the unwanted visibility issue while keeping the original color. The two meshes were just under 14 bucks with shippinng included. This is the product if youre interested: Full Body Honeycomb Mesh Sniper Veil Cover 60" x 96" from ASR Outdoor. Hope this helps, ad happy camping.

Tough, versatile, but just shy of perfect flexibility for me
Kept me from completely freezing, tho I was still really cold, on a 46* night in ENO Sub7 hammock, thin car reflector under torak, down jacket, fleece, warm base layer. I used it as a rain tarp, then tube shelter, then pod wrapped up around hammock to try to keep my heat in, cinching it up at one end, but couldn't cinch up the other. I've put it up as a lean-to, attempted lean-to with short rood, then also long way across to shield from 30mph winds... It's just a little too small on the shorter side. It's tough, used partially as a groundcloth it held up fine. Has no center tie-offs which hurt it's flexibility a bit. I finally broke down and ponied up $100 for 9'x9' silnylon tarp, but this was a great, low-cost entry tarp/tube-shelter and will go in my backup supplies.

Good value for the money
These are very flexible and durable tarps. I've used it to cover a open trailer full of lumber and had no issues. Kept everything dry. They are pretty light, the reflective mylar like coating on the inside I think adds a little to the weight but also adds some warmth so there is a trade off.I like the green color. They zipper seems solid.Like all these tarps that send ridge line with them, it's just that cheap stuff. For repeated use and more dependable cordage get some paracord, and learn to tie a few simple knots. Makes using a tarp way better.Overall? Ya, if you want to see if tarp camping is for you, this one gives you enough options and will certainly keep you dry.

But I am so glad I had it
I wasn't even going to buy this because I had a backpacking tent and actually considered just returning it if I wasn't going to use it. But I am so glad I had it. We had rain one morning and we had to pack up our wet tents to move on to the next site, because the Fly was soaked it got the actual tent soaked which meant the bottom of the tent. When we got the next tenting site it was late and dark there would be no chance to dry the tent out. I couldn't just sleep in a wet tent, I and all my stuff would be soaked. So I opened this up put it inside the tent like a liner (tied the opening to the top of the tent) and put me and air mattress/sleeping bag and my gear and had a great DRY night sleep. The material is great quality, drys quickly, comes with pegs and good rope and is very light. I will holding on this thing for a long time, so many great uses. Love it!
