Q: Are the built in amplifiers sold separately?

The TS115 speakers are "all in one" speaker/amp combo, so to speak. You do not need an amp, nor should you use one. FYI, all Active speakers have built in amps, Passive speakers need amps. Also, be sure to understand the volume knobs on these speakers. Half way, or straight up, is full line volume. Past half way is mic volume. People have blown these speakers using the volume knobs wrong. We never go past the 10 o'clock point. My DJ company uses a small mixing board with ours. We have 4 sets of these going strong for 4 years now doing weddings, festivals, and the like. The built in media player has saved us more than once when a laptop went down.
