Good product
Great thread for tying flyโs. My guy uses it as his go to. Good value for the money. Seems pretty durable. The colors are great.

Good value and strength for the price
The price was good, but the reviews were mixed, so I ordered this thread with a little fear. The weight of the thread is a somewhat heavy, but as a result itโs very strong and did a great job of tying small jigs and heavier wet flies. Probably not suitable for tiny dry flies, unless you can tie them with very few windings. The variety of colors work well for everything I would want to tie. Iโve already caught quite a few salmon on the jigs I tied, and the thread has held up well. I donโt know why they try to promote this as โEuropeanโ because the box clearly states Made in China.

Works but suboptimal
The thread definitely will work and I've tied plenty of flies with these. It's also one of the few combos with multiple colors that you can easily find. It's also relatively strong for it's diameter which is good when you're starting out and learning how much pressure to use when tying. That being said, this type of thread is not what you really want to tie with. It is essentially a braided thread which means when you lay it on the hook, it keeps it's cylindrical "ropey" shape. In contrast, a lot of typical fly tying thread can be laid flat on your hook as your tie. This results in a less ropey texture and let's you create more even tapers and build less bulk on you fly. Because of the ropey nature of this thread you will notice uneveness and weird bumps of thread on your flies, and it can also cut delicate feathers and other material if wrapped too tightly. If you're really sold on the color variety, you can actually just get a quality white tying thread and use permanent marker to color it your desired color as needed.

Great thread if that is the size you want
As a beginning fly tyer I have no problem with the thread though I found it heard to get get the size that I wanted. I wound up going to a local fly shop to get the size I wanted.

Great thread as long as you don't expect it to be 6/0 or 8/0
Despite some of the poor reviews people left saying this thread breaks easily, I decided to to take a chance on it and buy some. I figured some people are more heavy-handed when tying, so reviews may be inconsistent. I bought both the 6/0 set and the 8/0 set. I have tied a few dozen flies with this thread without any breakage issues and have caught many fish on the flies I have tied with it. Obviously, the fish don't care. The colors are great and the sets are a great value. I compared these threads with some of my Veevus threads by laying them side by side; a 6/0 in this thread is closer to a Veevus 14/0 and an 8/0 is closer to a 14/0 Veevus. In terms with how this thread breaks, it seems that it takes the same force to break this thread as it does the respective comparable Veevus threads. I know none of my testing is at all scientific, but these are my observations. So if you buy these expecting 6/0 or 8/0 thread, you'll be disappointed and will likely break it a lot if you're reefing down on the thread like you would a true 6/0 or 8/0 thread. The fish on many of the rivers I fish are picky little jerks and typically prefer nothing bigger than a size 18 or 20 fly, so these threads will be fine for all the small stuff I typically tie. I'll dock the seller one star for not representing their product accurately and keep tying flies with it.

Size matters
Cheap but too small to fit a bobbin. Basically unusable

Not ideal and expensive
Thread is OK and as advertised color and size. Thing is it's more of a braided thread so it's strong but stays very round while tying flys.
