The Potter's Bible: An Essential Illustrated Reference for Both Beginner and Advanced Potters

This book had me turning page after page. So informative and beautiful pictures. I am a novice working with clay. This book gives you a great overall look at what pottery is all about. I gifted it to three friends who are involved in working with clay. Great purchase!!

Just started and now more of the descriptions make more sense. The techniques - some elementary and some advanced - are inspiring for future dreams :)

This is a great little overview book. Lots of interesting examples in the photos, and introduction to many topics within pottery. It's really a collection of intros, not a deep dive into anything. Would be a great gift for a beginner who is enthusiastic and trying to decide what to explore. However, the copy I received has a few terrible printing errors. In the attached photo, you can see an entire paragraph from page 124 where a second paragraph is printed on the first, Making an unreadable mess. I'd love to know more about the lovely vase, but the description is lost. I can't believe any publisher would miss errors this bad. I am not impressed with the Quarto Publishing Group. They've done this author a disservice. Thankfully, most of the book is fine, but it makes a few moments like this frustrating. So be warned that it's a great book with flaws.

I purchased Potter's Bible as a gift for a friend who wants to take pottery classes. She absolutely loves it. When I spoke with her just days after I gave it to her, she said she had read it cover-to-cover three times! She should really be writing the review. It's got some basic techniques and a variety of projects. There are great photos!

The book is perfect for an art teacher. I bought this for a friend who will be teaching ceramics for the first time, to elementary students. The instructions are excellent and easy to follow. The illustrations are particularly helpful.

It's a nice book, with plenty of good information, but nearly half the book is devoted to glazes. I needed to learn about them anyway, but would have appreciated more on the other aspects of pottery. Still, it was useful.

Good all round reference book for the hobby Potter, which I am. It's not a detailed in depth book, but still fun to read and it has some great decorating ideas.

My wife just started a pottery class and has found the Pottery Bible a good reference piece. She especially likes the construction of the book with its compact size and wired spine as opposed to the class handouts which are letter sized..The detailed drawings are also very helpful.

Haven't used it properly as yet, but from a quick flick through it looks perfect and a good inspirer! Also I love the spiral bound inside, so much more practical than having to keep a book open. Great book would definitely recommend

The print quality is amazing. Helpful for beginners. Taking 1 star off because the backside of the cover was damaged.

As a novice at all things ceramic, I purchased this book and I was not disappointed I am very pleased with my new informative book.
