Hamper Stand, 30 gal, no bag

We go through a lot of milk at our house, so we recycle a lot of plastic jugs. I had a 30-gallon trash bag lying on the floor in an out-of-the-way, hard-to-reach corner of the kitchen, and would take the empty jugs over there, stomp on them, and put them in the bag. Getting to the bag was a little awkward, though, so I would put it off and the jugs would pile up.It finally occurred to me that somebody probably made some sort of framework that would hold the bag open for me. Lo and behold, there were a number of such contraptions on Amazon, and this one looked to be the best by far. We've had it for three weeks or so now, and I'm happy to report that milk jugs no longer pile up. Each time I empty a one, I rinse it and set it aside to drip dry, then I stomp on the previous jug and give it a toss into the open bag over in the corner. Three points!The frame is just the right size to fit the top of a bag, but (as others have commented) the 30-gallon size does not quite reach down to the floor. If I ever decided to use the setup for heavier loads, I would set a wide, short cardboard box (full of old catalogs) upside-down between the legs of the frame, providing a higher "floor" for the bottom of the bag to rest on. (Those that don't like the look of cardboard could use a nice sturdy wooden box, minus the catalogs.) That would need to be done only once, and should make it unnecessary to secure the top of each bag to the frame.While this frame costs considerably more than any of the others, it took maybe two seconds to set up and is very stable and sturdy. It should literally last a lifetime and more.UPDATE a couple of years later: We've been re-using the same black garbage bag, and it has apparently stretched and/or lost some of its elasticity. So lately I've been securing it to the top of the frame with half a dozen small binder clips.

If you've ever tried to fill a 30 gallon trash bag by yourself, you know the pain and aggravation.This is the solution to your problem. Simple, effective, and cheap.

The perfect minimalist trash "can". Takes up no more space than absolutely necessary. I use it with 42 gallon bags which are large enough to rest on the floor. Smaller bags might require some sort of clip to stay on when they get full. A simple, durable design with no moving parts. Looks to me like it will last forever. Highly recommended.

Not some flimsy wire assembly but sturdy thick frame easily set up and take down. Should last a long time.

Well built and functional. Not sure what brand/size paper yard bag is illustrated in product photos but it does not fit the Home Depot paper yard bags very well at all. (HD rated at 16" x 12" x 35"). Yard bag expands at bottom (larger than frame) making it difficult to lift a full bag out of the frame.

I used this product to place garbage in. It works fine for lightweight items but heavier items make the bag come off. This needs a clamp or holder to keep it in place and usable.
