Is this safe to keep outside? I want to use it for a mail box

not built to keep outdoors or to use as some sort of security box,,big enough for 4 loaves of bread,,hand made with small nails holding it together,,very nice appearance with rustic aged looking wood and clean pieces of leather......

What is the size of the latch so I know what size lock to use?

Small locks should fit, see the below link. https://www.amazon.com/CINCINNO-Combination-Resettable-Backpack-Weatherproof/dp/B097RZQGMF/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?keywords=mini%2Blocks&qid=1684776564&sr=8-1-spons&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEySjcxRlhITDRORU0yJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMTYzNjY2TkQ3NFM3M1pBQUg5JmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTA3ODQ5OTEzMU1PSVFKR0xUNVMxJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ&th=1

Can this fit a lock shackle that's 6 mm in diameter?

Not shure but it fits most medium locks and works well with the midevile style locks

Is the lock easy to pick? And is it one of those cheaper locks? My family nose as hell and good at picking my locks

It’s a cheap basic one really! I’m no pick but I’m sure if I played with I could get it open! So you may want one of those small more secure luggage/zipper style ones.
