For a few years, I've been researching small, portable washers for our off-grid cabin (we have a generator, and I just purchased a portable power station and solar panel for charging it). I was so pleased to be able to get a power station with enough power for this machine! Before going to the cabin, I tried the system out at home, using a regular wall socket, but to the power station - worked fine. We just returned from a week at the cabin, and while there we had a leak that required mopping up some dirt and water with a bathmat - to try out the washer again, I put that, a pair of womens' lightweight pajamas, and several pairs of socks in for a wash. The capacity for washing and rinsing is impressive - it can hold a lot, but if the load is too heavy, the movement of the clothes is slowed down; I was surprised at how much agitation the little machine actually provides! And as you see in the picture, I used it on the deck, for excellent drainage. Instead of using the hose for filling, I just used a bucket - the filling hose and fitting for the faucet is the only thing about this system that is lacking at all - the "adapter" doesn't really allow for attaching to the faucet - you have to hold in place - once placed properly, it fills well. Or the bucket system works fine. :) So, since my bathmat was dirty, I increased washtime to 9 minutes. Then I removed the laundry while draining water, replaced the laundry, and added clean rinse water - rinsed for about 5 minutes, then drained again. I was able to split this load into two to fit in the spin basket, which was fine. The first, lighter load, spun without having to hold the machine; the second, heavier load required the machine being held (or one could place a heavy item on it). I spun for about 6 minutes each time, and of note - I'll do 8 -10 next time to get them even more dry. Amazing how much spin "Little Junior" (my brother named it! :) ) has!!! Onto a clothes rack in the sunshine and within a few hours all was dry, and the power station was fully charged again. This is a great little system - luxury off-grid! UPDATE: I've seen criticsm about the machine vibrating and moving - it's a lightweight machine, so to me this is expected. With the wash cycle, this isn't an issue at all, even with towels. With spin, it wiggles - please see pictures with the "belt" - a tie-down works great, as I do the laundry on the deck. For larger loads, the capacity is good for washing (I did towels: 3 bath, 3 hand, and 3 washcloths, no problem. I split that into 3 loads for spinning.

I purchased this machine (SUPER DEAL Portable Small Washing Machine 5.7 lbs Capacity Mini Compact Single Tub Washer with Spin Cycle Basket) after figuring my laundry cost for a week. The grimy local laundromat was 8 bucks to wash and dry one load. Figured this would pay for itself. It works well right up until you reach capacity. I can wash 4 tshirts, 4 pairs of socks, and 4 underwear all at once if I fill enough water in. Usually I start at 3/4 full and add until it starts to agitate. Jeans are another story. You can BARELY get it to wash 2 pair. It's not intended for jeans or anything like that so I guess that's fine. The wash cycle is 15 minutes, so doing jeans one at a time isn't terrible. The spin basket is useless. I think you could get two pairs of socks and one underwear in there. It doesn't spin fast enough to really extract all the water, so I just wring my laundry out. I live in an RV right now. IF you are going to use this in your RV shower, make sure you have a screen in your drain. Stop draining the unit halfway through, or whenever the water starts to pool so you can clean out the screen. This machine really beats up your clothes and the lint will block your drain. If that happens then the shower tub will fill up and you will short the unit. It started tripping my GFI and I couldn't figure why until I realized it had been wading in the drain water. Decent capacity. Could be way better with a couple of shock absorbing feet to let you use the spin. A larger spin basket. These are all things that would make this unit a 5 star. As it sits - 4 stars here. Too many little things. I still like it. A tiny bit more capacity would make this one of the best inexpensive units on Amazon. Overall, not sad I bought it. I wish they made a dryer this size that wasn't super expensive.

Ok this is not a "full size washing machine" so to compare it to a "real" washing machine isn't fair. I feel it's a good little machine for doing small or delicate items instead of washing by hand. Sometimes my son needs to wash A work shirt and I don't feel like doing a full load just for one thing, or for delicate items, it's great. Understanding that, and you'll be fine. HOWEVER what I didn't expect was, since there isn't an agitator in the middle, if you put a lot in there, everything gets tied up in knots which is annoying. So here's what I do. I do a few items, run it for 15 mins, drain, add clean water, rinse for another 10 mins then do the spin dry in the large washer in my house because if you try to do a spin in this thing it acts like it's going to launch into space. Don't run the spin it just can't stay balanced and rocks and rolls and WILL fall off the counter or fall over or whatever. I do like it. For what it is, it's great, just don't overload it, and add a LOT of water so stuff doesn't get all tangled up.

Summary: - The spin cycle of the washer did not perform as expected. - The seller admitted that the washer usually does not spin properly. - The seller did not want to refund. - I needed to file an A-to-Z claim with Amazon. - I finally got a refund for the item, but I have taken a $10.99 loss on the shipping that was not refunded. Details: I bought this small washer to wash and spin my microfiber towels that I use to wash my car. The input hose is a joke. It's not really a hose. It is more like a long drinking straw. It would be impossible to connect the input hose to any water source. I just filled the washer using the pull-out spout of my kitchen faucet. The wash cycle actually seems pretty decent. There is no agitator, but the water is jetted to create a whirlpool. The jets alternate rotations every few seconds to provide agitation. What I really wanted the washer for was to spin my towels so that I would not need to ring them before letting them air dry. This washer fails horribly at it's spin cycle. There is a very small basket which is to be inserted into the washer for the spin action. It is so small it can only hold a few of my towels; I cannot imagine how normal clothes would be able to fit. The basket does not attach to the washer; it rests within grooves. Almost every time the basket would come loose and dislodge. For the times when the basket did not dislodge, it was so out of balance that the machine would shake and precess. I would try with less towels, more towels, just one towel, etc., and I would try to rearrange evenly, but nothing helped. I contacted the seller, and the seller admitted that the spin cycle does not work properly. In response to the problem I was having with the spin cycle the seller said, "This washing machine is relatively small, small in size and light in weight. It is true that what you said will happen, but it is not a matter of quality. This kind of washing machine almost always does." I wanted a refund, but the seller did not want to give a refund. She offered a small discount and suggested I give the washer away or sell for a small profit. After numerous communications with the seller, I finally needed to file an A-to-Z claim with Amazon. I finally got a refund for the item, but I was not refunded for the $10.99 I paid for shipping. It was a very bad experience: I have lost money, and it has wasted much of my time.

The upshot is, this is a $50 machine. It's not like my portable compact $300-$400 Danby that I had for years. There are little hiccups, etc. This is definitely a "camping out” machine. First off, the instructions are useless. All they are is list of safety suggestions. But no actual instructions. And hook up is left to your intuition and common sense. For example, there is a tube that is supposed to go from the sink to the unit, but you better hope the end that slips over the faucet fits your faucet. There is no adapter. I have an adapter from the last unit I had that's still on the faucet, otherwise it would be more problematic. Some people online (I have read) have gotten clips or other adapters elsewhere to fix this. The unit looks big on the inside, like a little bigger than a five gallon bucket, but you don't want to put in more than a few items. Think a half load or less. Think no more than three gallons of water (about). There is no spindle, so the only thing that muddles and mixes the water and clothes is the revolving plate at the bottom. So, you don't want too many clothes or too much water or it will all be too heavy to handle. My first load, I had a couple pairs of sleeping shorts, pair of underwear, pillowcase, tank top and a cardigan, and two bras. I think I should have had taken out either the cardigan or the bras. My second load went better. That was a cardigan, two cotton tops, a pair of underwear, a pair of sleeping shorts and I think one more thing I can't remember. So, slightly smaller, and it worked better. You don't want to fill it up with too much water or it will come out the overflow. The overflow is a tube that hooks into the up position when the wash is going. You unhook it to release the water and let it drain it away. Sometimes, I turn the machine to spin when that happens. An online user, I read somewhere, said they could do a towel or a sheet in a load, but I would honestly save the towels and sheets for a real washing machine. You could do washcloths and hand towels, though. I haven't tried pants or jeans yet. One user said her 9-year-old son's pants were fine, but it was almost iffy with her 6ft tall husband's jeans. I think I would count a pair of adult jeans as two items of clothing and decrease the amount of items I put in the unit by that much. So, to begin, put in your soap and put in your water using either the input tube or a bucket (some people online just used buckets). Add your clothes, and maybe a little more water (depending — everything is “about” with this machine). You have to set one knob to wash and the other knob to how many minutes you want to wash, from 3 to 15 minutes. I set everything to 15. If I think it needs a little more muddling, I set it to "spin" for a couple of minutes. If I need more washing, I add more minutes, but there is no delicate or extra wash or extra spin, just what you come up with with the knobs at hand. So, I fill it up twice more for my rinse cycle, turning one knob to wash (or spin for a couple of minutes) and the other 15 minutes. You might decide to do less. As I previously pointed out, there is an outlet hose to drain the water out between cycles. You physically unhook it and let it flop over into the tub to drain. Rehook it in the up position when you are filling the tub again. If you want to spin moisture out of the clothes at the end, then you need to take all the clothes out, place them into your (hopefully) clean sink and place the spin basket into the unit. It has to be on the bottom plate just right. Make sure it's seated correctly. Only put one item at a time in to spin or it will fly off the plate. You can do two items if they're small. Like I did shorts and underwear. Spinning it "dry" just gets the excess water out enough so you can hang the items to dry. This isn't a machine where you can load it, fill it and walk away and come back and it will be finished. You have to check in at the end of every cycle, which you predetermine with the timer. There is no ding or buzz on the timer to tell you it's done, either. It just quits. So if you forget, the clothes are just going to soak for a while. Someone online said they set the unit up on a chair/stool in the bathroom by the sink and next to the tub because then it's high enough to drain, has a place to drain, and next to the sink for the water tube and an outlet for electricity. So, that's what I did. It's called a "countertop" unit, but I think if you did put it on the counter in like the kitchen, it might be a little too high and be awkward. A bathroom is more contained for any accidents that might happen, I think. Easy to grab a towel if there's a mess. Also, when you release the tube from the sink faucet, you have to remember there's probably still water in it, so be careful. (See above.) Pros: Lets you catch up on laundry on a small scale. If you're not feeling well or don't have time to go and do a bunch of laundry, then you can stay in for an evening and do a couple of small loads and that should give you a couple more days of clean clothes. Small and lightweight, so easy to carry and heft. Easy to store, mostly. It’s 14” x 14” x 22” (about) and might be 10 lbs or less. Has a handle on the back and handholds on the side. Cons: Limited in the variety of types of wash you can do to what you can come up within your own. There is no delicate, etc., but you can let clothes soak for a bit. There is no Uber wash, but you can run it another 15 minutes or let it soak. Limited in the amount that it can do for you, just a little at a time, and it will never be as easy to use as a regular washing machine. It’s very hands-on / manual. You’ll have to check on it all the time so multitasking will include multiple trips to go through your wash cycles. I’m thinking of calling her Ethel, cuz I’ll probably get to know her well.

I love love it ...i was so excited to use this machine . Today just got it so far its working very very well . Yes spinner 1st was ok at 2nd time it was so much moving i got scared. But i think it was my fault i didnt put properly spinner bucket i fixed again then it was spinning nice and smoothly . Its very nice small compact washing machine very delicate but i think its suppose to be like that not for rough and tough use & its little hectic or you need to work with that like you need to takeout your dresses spin with hand and again put water to rinse kind of like that but its ok so far its small its worth & great for hand wash dresses, single dresses or color dresses. I highy recommend this as for small washer and for travelers. Today was my 1st day of washing so i dont know about future but if something happen later i will edit here :)

I've used this for a few washes so far and am pretty happy with my purchase. For me this was an upgrade from my manual WonderWash, which I like but is pretty labor-intensive. I was impressed by the strength of the motor on this, it does a great job washing about 3lbs of clothes at a time. I have not used the spin dry basket, as I already have a different spin dryer with a better capacity and wanted to preserve the motor for washes. The water inlet is basically useless, just use your shower head or a pitcher (about 18 quarts is a perfect amount of water). Also, be careful with the water drain hose--it drains extremely fast as soon as the hose comes down, which is great when it drains into your tub or toilet; not so much when it's onto your floor. I wish it was more carefully secured on the peg, be cautious when moving. Nice and light to move when empty, with a deceptively large capacity. I haven't tried sheets or larger towels yet. Great choice for apartment living if you'd rather avoid the laundromat. I do wish the instructions were clearer, it definitely requires a little trial and error to figure our depending on your detergent and amount of laundry. Main cons include: 1) smells like burnt plastic, though it doesn't affect the smell of the clothes; 2) No noise for the timer, so you just have to listen for the click to know that it's stopped; 3) if there isn't enough water, the motor is so strong that it wants to chew up my clothes, so use a garment bag for anything stringy or delicate. Overall a good machine, I'm hoping it can stand up to frequent use.

It’s a good little machine and can do a reasonably good sized load. You can wash one sheet at a time which is pretty good for this little washer, but I only say this to let you know the capacity of the washer. I do take my sheets down to the laundry room because I find them too difficult to wring out before I put them in the spinner. The spin doesn’t get as much water out of your clothes as a regular washer, but I just let the dryer run until they’re dry so, for me, it’s really not a problem. I included the pictures to show how I store and use it. I keep it in my bathtub with the pail and basin I put my washed clothes in to take to the dryer. This keeps everything handy. When I use the machine I put a mat under it because the spinner vibrates and the washer jumps around. To solve this, I just sit on the side of the tub, reading a book, and leaning my arm on the washer while it’s spinning. To sum it all up, I would say this is a good machine for small loads and is very handy for apartment living.

Washes very well ✅. Easy to use and light weight. Not impressed with the clothes spinner.

This item does not have good quality and the price is too much for such non standard products. I bought it and it only worked for one month, the spinner was not working even at the beginning.

Love this little washer! It actually holds a good amount....2 large bath towels are no problem for this washer.I love the wash timer, as you can adjust the wash time from 3 min up to 12 min. Makes life alot easier, and takes no time to wash a few items. Thanks for an awesome product!

I bought this for my newborn clothes washing. The machine shakes and moves around when it is spinning. Moreover, it requires lots of human intervention in order to operate: manually flow water in, manually drop the drain valve when it finish its washing cycle and then take clothes out and put back in a basket for spinning. Honestly, it takes more than hand washing. I am going to return it. My big mistake on Amazon order ever
