Excellent more than five stars
I have used the Oxford Advanced Learner's English- Chinese dictionary 6th edition for over ten years, so it was worn out and some thread broken. I love this 9th edition one with many new words and supplements added

Font is way too small. Need to use a magnifying glass.
I had originally bought the Oxford Elementary Learner's English-Chinese Dictionary 4th Edition (Chinese); its size is 5.8 x 4 x 1 inches. But I had to return it because the font was so small that I had to use a magnifying glass. I just got this one 9th edition; its size is 8.5 x 6.2 x 2.8 inches. I was hoping the font would be bigger. I will return it as well because I also would have to use a magnifying glass to look up anything! The previews were not available for both. I wish previews would have been available so I wouldn't have wasted my time or Amazon's. I am giving this product 4 stars only because the content was good, base on looking through my magnifying glass.

English-Chinese 9th ed. Definitions Deleted before Printing
I liked this dictionary since 1960s and have been using almost every new edition since then, EE or EC. This 2018 English-Chinese edition (9th) as usual cut off some of the so-called "sensitive" head words for the "benefits" of Chinese Mainlanders in English learning, such as freedom of speech, freedom of press and so on. I do not think that the deletion of the words are sensitive for Chinese English-learners at all, but for the simple pleasure of one person, Chairman Xi and his little mental kingdom of insecurity and paranoia. Hope this is not too harsh in using English. Please make sure you ARE comfortable to see my words here. Deletion of the entries in a learner's dictionary in China would do little to secure the sense of publishers or a leader of a country, for the stability of that country's commerce and of the leadership. I am quite sure about this. China is a big country indeed.

terrific dictionary. i wonder if the binding would last long enough. in my opinion, as this is a dictionary to be used for everyday reference. the binding should quite a bit better.
