One of the most popular and beloved introductions to the concept of faith ever written, ‘Mere Christianity’ has sold millions of copies worldwide. The book brings together C.S. Lewis’s legendary radio broadcasts during the war years, in which he set out simply to ‘explain and defend the belief that has been common to nearly all Christians at all times’.Rejecting the boundaries that divide Christianity’s many denominations, ‘Mere Christianity’ provides an unequalled opportunity for believers and nonbelievers alike to absorb a powerful, rational case for the Christian faith. A must-read classic book on Faith and Christianity
I have been reading this book since December and to be honest I took it slow on purpose. I kept coming back to this book inspite my day to day challenges because it just felt so timely. This classic book by C.S. Lewis was originally part of a series of BBC broadcasts given by him during the second world war. His radio broadcasts brought healing & hope to the lives of many back then. Now as a book, Mere Christianity combines all his lectures into a 230-pages quintessential introduction of christian faith to the world. As an atheist-turned-christian, C.S. Lewis makes theology so very interesting. He answers the most common yet significant faith questions making it plain & simple to understand for a layman. “A world of nice people, content in their own niceness, looking no further, turned away from God, would be just as desperately in need of salvation as a miserable world— and might even be more difficult to save. For mere improvement is not redemption…God became man to turn creatures into sons: not simply to produce better men of the old kind but to produce a new kind of man” Publisher: @wmcollinsbooks - a non fiction imprint of @harpercollinsuk Ps: This book deserves more than 5 stars and is a must read for every christian.

My copy was fine.
Unlike as written by MarkM my copy arrived properly written and laid out. Though it’s the same cover as here and a hard copy, it only cost $16.98 so keep searching.

Slow Read, Deep Impact
I’m not even finished with this book yet, but I felt like I needed to say something about it. Mere Christianity is not a light or fluffy read. It really makes you think. C.S. Lewis explains things in a very logical and straightforward way, which I appreciate. He talks about big topics like morality and faith in a way that feels honest and thoughtful, not pushy. There were a few parts I had to reread because they’re quite dense, but that’s also what makes it good. It challenges you. Even when I don’t fully understand something, I find myself thinking about it later in the day. If you’re looking for something simple and devotional, this might not be it. But if you want something that stretches your thinking and makes you reflect more deeply on what you believe, it’s definitely worth reading. I’ll update this once I finish it, but so far I’m really glad I started it.

Spiritual Growth
The reason of our lives is quite simple: spiritual growth. It is something that I have been hearing since I was a little kid and it is written in the Bible is so many ways, but for me it is being great to read books like this one that allows us to have this truth written deep down in our hearts.
