Favorite edible markers!
I absolutely love using these black markers. They work great with fondant and chocolate for cake pop details.

These markers actually work!!!
After buying similar food markers from local stores to decorate cake pops (wasted $$ - I ended up piping black frosting to decorate), I was wary buying these. Since my initial purchase, I have since bought the multi-color set twice and these even more times than that! They really work! These markers decorate batches of cake pops without stopping. The other ones ... I could maybe finish two individual pops before the markers clogged up. I use three different brands of candy melts and have never had problems with any. A homeschool co-op class borrowed a set to decorate marshmallow Lego pops for a special treat, and they worked well for me after 15, 5-8 year olds used them (and not carefully - like any kid colors). Well worth the money!

Worked great on my Sugar Cookies!
I bought this to make the face on Sugar Cookie Verisions of Minecraft characters for my 8 year old's birthday party. They worked great and looked awesome. Only thing worth mentioning is wait until the royal frosting has completely dried, I rushed on a few and having to write on them cracked the icing (sometimes I just get too impatient...lol). Overall, nice price tag and works great, I would recommend to anyone looking to put finishing touches on Sugar Cookies!

Helps make food fun! Will work on chocolate and works well on some fruits.
I bought these markers base on the product reviews to make marshmallow pops for my son's Lego theme birthday party. I had purchased the Wilton brand markers and found them to be impossible to use. I am not sure what the Wilton ones are made for but you couldn't write on fruit or chocolate. The Americolor food writer did work much better on chocolate but was still a bit difficult. I am not sure if it is due to the oil content of the chocolate or what. Nevertheless it did somewhat work so I am glade I gave it a try. I also test out using the markers on fruit and so far it has worked on citrus and apples. It is going to be fun to use it when making lunches for my kiddos.

I bought another brand at Michael's and it wrote one line before it stopped working (on a white chocolate covered pretzel I was trying to draw on). The blog that inspired the birthday treat I was trying to make showed this was the writer they used (not available at the stores I looked at) so I figured I'd try it.Worked as food writer should (as in, it actually wrote and didn't stop working almost instantly). You have to wipe off the tip occasionally, but it drew fabulously on the chocolate.

The idea is fantastic. And these markers do write great on a cake surface as soon as it's non-greasy. I decorated marshmallows dipped in yellow Wilton Candy Melts which had a little bit (1tbsp per 12oz coating) of palm oil in it and it was enough for these markers to stop writing (they still write well on, say, paper and I will try them again on an oil free coatings). They left a diluted trace instead of saturated marker trace, and the kids were fascinated with their Lego minifig marshmallow head but I am not completely happy.I am convinced that if not for the oil they would have worked for my project but there was no warning about greasy surfaces... So, next time I am planning to purchase the tiniest decorating tip with an ol' plain royal frosting tinted with black...

There must be something better for cake pops
I bought these to draw faces on Lego marshmellow pops, it worked alright for a few but quickly dried out, I was able to make them able I need with both pens but sometimes I felt like I had to press too hard and the candy melt cracked a bit which made the whole process take longer. I was hoping I would be able to use one for this project and save the other pen for a different project but nope. They both went in the trash after 24 pops.
