Fantastic, understated design with good reach...
I picked this faucet for installation into our late 1980's vintage main bathroom, severely in need of a makeover, but for now just a room I need to keep patched together and functional. The aesthetics of this faucet are obvious -- it's a very simple, clean, and minimal design that looks right at home in the rag-tag setting it's in now, but will gracefully make the transition to either our master bath, or the kids' bathroom, once that project hits its stride. The polished chrome finish is so far very durable with no signs of wear or corrosion, and extremely easy to keep clean. (I compare this to an oil-rubbed Kohler faucet i installed in our half-bath, which shows a slight amount of wear at the handles.)Beyond good looks, I'm especially appreciative of Kohler's all brass construction. Especially after tearing out the old faucet, which was rusted, rotted, corroded, and tarnished in ways I never thought possible -- made all the worse by 40 years of service attached to an old Kohler iron sink (which pulled through four decades of use quite nicely, well enough to continue serving us for now). The Purist brass ought to be a superior performer. The high reaching spigot gives generous clearance for hand washing, bottle filling, rinsing out rags and swim trunks, or ducking my head under the water stream for rinsing an annoying speck of sawdust out of my eye. But it's a little bit "in your face" for face washing -- nothing I didn't get used to, and my wife doesn't complain. The spigot reach, at 5.5 inches, is in the high-middle range of what's commonly available. It seems the sweet spot is in the 4.5 to 5-inch range, based on what's available. And Kohler has spoiled me with their no-fuss quarter-turn ceramic valves. (So much so, I recently returned a Kohler utility sink faucet for my garage that *didn't* have ceramic valves for another brand that did!) Not only are they incredibly smooth and drip free, but they're easy to replace, both in time and money (less than 15 bucks apiece, and no more than 15 minutes to swap the pair).Faucet installation is equally easy. The most challenging aspect of installation is tightening the nut under the spigot, only because it's in cramped quarters behind the sink bowl (a deep 11/16" socket was my friend). For the levers, they've devised a very simple screw-tensioned bracket system that avoids wrenches, and prevents the levers from turning away from their proper alignment.Despite the height of the spout, the aerated flow is extremely gentle, and doesn't result in splashing.I was really pleased to see that this model came with a matching tailpiece (with overflow provisions -- you'll need to order a different tailpiece if your sink doesn't have an overflow), and a pop-up drain. The tailpiece is a short 4", but LASCO's 03-3119 17 gauge tailpiece has matching threads, and is of comparable look and quality to Kohler. The only parts needed for completion are a p-trap or bottle trap to complete the drain connection to the wall, and supply lines to connect to the shut-off valves at the wall.

Sleek, well made, model: K-14406-4-CP
I looked everywhere for new faucets and originally did not want to spend $ 300 plus each. I had a $ 160.00 Price Pfister installed in one bathroom two years ago, but a year into it, one of the visible rubber gaskets on the hot side was swollen and damaged. I did not want to go cheap again this time, but get something that should last many years. Time will tell and I will certainly update if something goes awry.I could not find a modern, sleek looking taller faucet I liked as much and I gave in. I am so glad I did. Love these Kohler faucets. They just exude quality. I had three of them installed two month ago, but I still notice and love looking at them every time I use the sink.Part of it might be because I had such ugly eighty's shiny brass faucets before. (I still have the rest of the outdated 80s bathrooms... 4 inch, off-white Dal tile everywhere). But these have made such a difference and upgraded the look, I might keep the tile :).For another bathroom I did not want to spend that much and installed a similar looking Moen fixture... It is much more stout looking, masculine. In hindsight, I should have spend the extra $ 100 and gotten the Kohler version for this bathroom.

Nice product - can’t trust multiple open boxes.
The product itself is high quality and really nice. The reason for the low rating is the service. Twice I received an open box. If you’re going to sell the item as new then the product better show up in a Kohler box with the original Kohler seal intact. The first box I received had the seal broken and the product itself had finger prints all over it. It’s polished chrome people - come on. I requested a replacement but again received an open box with finger prints all over the product. The replacement was def a different box, I know because I still have the first. Just unfair to charge me full price for an item with an open box and in addition, I have to take all the risk that something isn’t missing or broken when I go to install in the next week or so. It’s unfortunate that I can’t trust that the product hasn’t been tampered with, parts haven’t been swapped, or removed. Not taking the chance. Sorry.

Beautiful Faucet
Solid, beautiful, well-designed faucet. Looks great with the Memoirs Stately pedestal sink!

Not a deep/far reach on spout
Entirely my fault, but the faucet is diminutive with a small spout that doesn't reach far into basin. Its a pretty faucet but for small sinks with the fixture close to the rim

Perfection at a great price.
I was able to get the polished nickel faucet on Amazon warehouse deals and save HUNDREDS of dollars... like $300. It came in perfect condition. The quality is beautiful and heavy- you can tell it's solid brass construction. I love the simplicity of design, and the higher faucet neck is really nice too. No splashing in my sink. Just perfect!

Lasts
I bought one 6 years ago, has been working flawlessly. After remodeling our bath to include a 2 sink set up I thought I had to changes styles. I was able to find the same style again and they both look great. Our older one doesn’t show any noticeable wear we are very happy.
