Great sharp blade
Great knife, super sharp, feels good in your grip and rectangle design helps food drip from blade. Would recommend.

Worth it.
I can not speak highly enough of these knives. If you want quality and durability, stop searching. They are easy to use, light in the hand yet very strong. The ballance makes it feel like an extension of your arm and makes quick work of any vegetable you lay out in front of it

Excellent purchase
I had been using a cheap nakiri knife for a couple years and I found this style really useful. Most of my chef's knives are carbon steel, and I really wanted to try blue steel, this seemed like a great price for a knife like this. Since I use knives as tools, I wouldn't have cared if the fit and finish wasn't great but I was surprised at how nice the wood handle was on the Yoshihiro. It was really sharp out of the box, but a couple passes on the medium and fine stones made it razor sharp, I've already several pounds of vegetables with no noticeable wear on the edge. As I replace the remaining stainless knives with carbon steel ones, I'll probably buy more Yoshihiro knives, I'd recommend this to anyone who's serious about their cutting tools.I should add that it arrived a couple days after I ordered it and was beautifully packaged, for people who care about such things.

if you know how to use a knife this is for you.
this is my second yoshihiro knife and I am just as impressed with this one as with my last one. very sharp right out of the package, I was actually shaving my arm to prove to a coworker just how sharp it was. the handle is very easy to hold, great for vegetables. I work 12 hr shifts for weeks on end before I get a day off so I need sharp ,comfortable, reliable knives. yoshihiro has done it every time .

Yoshihiro Aoko - Best knife I own
I knew what I needed was some hand made Japanese steel. When my wife asked me what I wanted for my birthday I showed her a picture of this knife. I was so happy when I opened it. It is completely different than the machine made version that I had been using. Out of the box it is razor sharp and it keeps an edge. Being Blue Steel it needs a little attention, keep it clean and oiled and it will not let you down. I love it.

chips easy because of the small angle
You have to be very carefull when you sharpen it on a honing steel, chips easy because of the small angle! Stays sharp for a good amount of time!

Buyers Beware - Knife more for show than for actual use.
This knife is beautiful, and comes incredibly sharp. Some things that I don't like about this knife are that I have found the blade to be very brittle. I have had the knife for about two weeks and I use it fairly frequently for breaking down butternut squash, and I already have a chip in the cutting edge already. Nothing major, but a little frustrating for something that I paid this much money for. Additionally I have noticed that the blade itself comes down more in the middle than the rest of the cutting edge, which I guess could make since for cutting using a rocking motion, but either way it doesn't feel right when cutting. Also wasn't expecting that out of a clever. Lastly the spine of the knife is really rough, almost like sand paper and hasn't affected me to much, just kind of weird it wasn't sanded down or anything.I was overall really disappointed with this buy and wouldn't recommend it to anyone else. Which is a shame to because I own a lot of knives from this company and overall think that they do stand up work and that their craftsmanship is great and because of that I gave them two stars instead of one.
