Perfect for my purposes
I was looking for a book stand for a very specific purpose: To hold a spiral bound reference book next to my computer. My main requirement was that the stand not have page holders because I am constantly flipping back and forth in the book and they would just get in the way. Since I use it with a spiral-bound book that lies flat when open, there is no need for page holders or some other mechanism to keep the book open. This stand works perfectly for my purposes, but may not be the best choice if you do need something to keep the book open (although big binder clips work in a pinch). It has the added benefit of being attractive, is well made, and is wood instead of plastic. It should last a very long time. It folds flat to stick on the book shelf when not in use. And I loved the price!

Functional and Great Quality
I bought this as a little treat for myself and can't believe that I waited so long! The foldable feature was the main reason that I chose this stand vs. others, and I love being able to get it out and put it away quickly. The acrylic shield is a wonderful feature as well.

Fantastic product, perfect for my needs
This is a wonderful book display. I had to find something to display my Codex Seraphinianus because it's much larger than normal books and the most valuable book in my collection, but not only that, it's also amazing just to browse through. In fact, that's pretty much the only thing you CAN do with it because it's not in a real language. But the illustrations are amazing. This cookbook holder is the perfect size and I love being able to adjust it to different heights. It's nice quality. The only problem was that the wood support in the middle was not glued down very well and would twist whenever the book leaned against it. I fixed this with a little wood glue and now it works perfectly. It was not much trouble, but it might be for someone who does not have strong enough glue. (I am a crafter and have countless types.) Anyway, if I ever obtain more books worthy of displaying and of this size, I will definitely buy more of these.

Love!
This was the perfect book holder! I was looking for something like this for a long time. I hated that I would use my cookbook and food would get on the pages, but with this it works out perfectly! The clear shield protects my pages and it holds my book at the perfect angle. I even use it to display my cookbook on my counter!

Nicely mad and versatile
I got this primarily for use with cookbooks, not only to stand them up for ease of use, but for the shield to protect the pages. I have since found that this comes in very handy for any book to be read hands-free. I am currently also using this to hold a crochet pattern book - I simply set it up on my ottoman, grab my project and sit back to craft comfortably.

Adequate but limited utility
I wanted a stand that had an adjustable angle, and an acrylic front, that still allowed page turning. Turns out this stand is not adjustable to change the viewing angle, and it’s too horizontal for my viewing height. I put an unloved book behind my cookbooks and that helps to create a more upright view. Also, it’s awkward to turn pages in the book when it’s on the stand, because the bottom rises up when the front acrylic piece is lowered on its hinge, so it isn’t perfect for that either. It’s OK for small books- the acrylic won’t cover books over 12” wide when opened. The stand takes up around 8” of space on the counter, which is a lot, but it’s easy to fold up and store when not in use. Overall, kind if just OK, but it wasn’t too expensive either, so a trade off. I also bought a more expensive stand with similar promoted features, but it didn’t store easily, do decided to keep this one and adapt to its shortcomings.

Good concept, but we don't use it
This thing functioned correctly but is largely a waste of money. It often sits around waiting for a cookbook it will never hold. I try to move it around and use it near where I am working, and it ends up in the way, and I need to move it to reclaim the space. Not to mention the fact that I usually end up forgetting about it when I go to cook anyway.

Attractive, good value, and a renewable resource!
I purchased this stand to hold a large book that I consult frequently in my home office. I really liked both the look and the price of the stand. However, since the book is a spiral-bound softcover book, I anticipated that I'd need to use a solid backing board for support on the stand, so I was hoping the bottom ledge of the stand would be deep enough. When the stand arrived, I found that the ledge is deep enough, the artist's board (sort of like a clipboard but larger) that I'm using for a backing board fits beautifully and the book is now easy to consult and at the perfect angle to read. I'm really pleased with the result. The book stand is both sturdy and attractive, and goes well with the other bamboo accessories I've adapted for my home office. I love using bamboo whenever possible, since it combines the traits of strength and beauty while still being a renewable resource. And bamboo is often more economical than other options... All in all, this product was a winner... In fact, now I'm contemplating getting a second stand to use with another artist's board, this time as a tabletop easel for when I'm painting.
