A help in time of need
I lost my wife suddenly and unexpectedly in June 2022, and have just passed the one-year mark of her homegoing to be with Jesus. A member of my GriefShare group brought the book to our meeting and I immediately noticed the author's name. I enquired and decided to purchase a copy for myself. The first paragraph was riveting, meaning, I immediately could relate to what C.S. Lewis was experiencing in his grief journey. I read the book in one setting, then read the additional commentaries later. Though the content is a bit challenging at times, I recommend this book enthusiastically for anyone on a grief journey. I am finally coming out of the fog and, with God's grace, feeling hopeful and joyful about life in this new season.

Well written
I should not have read this book so soon after the death of my beloved wife.

Very good read, not an easy read or subject
I couldn't put this book down. It really makes you think and was well written. Transparent thoughts on a very hard subject.

Well written
Well written. Encouraging for those going through grief, helpful for understanding for those indirectly effected by someone grieving. C.S. Lewis is an exceptional writer.

Hard to follow
Was going to give to my mom as a gift because she’s suffered many losses (both parents and three siblings). I love his intellect but the way it is written was hard to understand. Won’t be giving it as a gift…
