Make genesis games clear on hd tv
Easy hookup and allows kids to play old genesis hames on my modern tv. A few games had some static at the bottom of the screen but not a big deal. Games look great.

Works as expected for Sega genesis
The media could not be loaded. Comparing this to my recent connection was night to day. My previous connection wasn't as clear and I immediately noticed the difference once I turned on my genesis. I also like the fact that it changes the screens aspect ratio between 720 for that old school look to a very nice 1080p wide screen.makes me wish I could have played Coach K college basketball onside screen back in the 90's

Cheap upscaler option
The only positive thing I can say is, this works in a pinch when you want to play your Genesis/SegaCD/32X on your flatscreen. However, it has a lot of strange artifacts especially when you have a fast scrolling game like Sonic. It's quite distracting. The colors are also not accurate. There are no better options at this pricepoint but if you really care about acceptable quality, you can get better upscalers for double the price.

Razor sharp image. Color/brightness settings will probably need adjusting.
I had to lower the brightness on my monitor to get it to look it’s best. It seems to still be a little off as far as color goes but I can’t quite put my finger on it to adjust my monitor settings to compensate. Another issue is I can’t get sound through the cable on my Model 1. Not a big deal for me as I use the rca out on the Sega CD. But I could see it being an issue for some. Why 4 stars then you ask? Because it is affordable, has a razor sharp picture, and I haven’t noticed a hint of input lag.Tips:If you go with a cheap ac adapter for your Genesis you are probably going to get some serious interference. Getting a better power supply resolved that for me.Using this on HDMI TV worked great. As this is what it is intended for. I also tried it on a monitor using a DVI port adapter. It would not display. I used an avermedia live gamer portable hdmi passthrough port and it worked. It has been the only way to get it to work over DVI. Since no one ever said it would work over DVI I have NOT lowered my score to reflect this.

Perfect cable to connect Sega Genesis to your HDTV
I purchased this to use with a used Sega Genesis. It connected to my 4k HDTV perfectly and I am more than thrilled with the quality of display! Although I am not sure of this, it almost feels as if this cable up converts these old Genesis games into a whole new light. Although most of the essential Sega classics have been ported to all the other major consoles, there’s nothing like playing on the original hardware, and this Hyperkin cable makes it possible!

Great HDMI cable for the Genesis...but it came with the wrong model 1 adapter and it no longer works
Update: March 9th 2021So I have officially given up on this. It is really too bad because when it worked the image looked great. But I decided to replace this device with HD Retrovision cables, my past experience with HD Retrovision tells me that it will last much longer than a year. I had high hopes for Hyperkin, but taking into account that they supplied the wrong Model 1 connector and after a little more than a year the device does not work, I have to drop my score to 1 star.Update: Dec 10th, 2020It is disappointed to think that my 30+ year old Genesis still works and a device that is a little over a year old does not. After finally obtaining the proper Model 1 converter cable, the connection to the Genesis now is correct and looks great......when the device works.Sadly, after about a year of light use, the device no longer consistently works. While playing a game, the image to the TV will intermittently go black for extended periods of time. If I wait it out, the image will come back. Then it cycles between working and not working. It is hard to play a game when the screen goes black every few minutes. I verified that it was not my Genesis with my original A/V cables and it works fine, so I know it is the Hyperkin HDTV Cable and not the Genesis. When it works the image looks great. Too bad it is malfunctioning just over a year after purchasing.I will buy another similar product because the picture looked great and it was easy to use. But I am very disappointed that it stopped functioning properly and because of the Model 1 converter issue I have to drop the rating. For the price and if it works and if I did not have to source the proper converter cable, I would give it 5 stars, but under the circumstances, It is between a 1 and 2 stars. :-(Original review:A 5 Star Product! Why only 3? (now only 2 star)My initial impression are very good. Compared to the original AV cable, this cable's image is vastly superior!Text on screen is clear, the colors are bright, every game I have tried looks much, much better and the sound comes through great. In my opinion, for the price point, this is a significant upgrade from standard AV cables. It is well worth the money if you are looking for a convenient way to hook the Genesis up to a modern TV.There are two issues I have noticed. One small, and one bigger.1) This product is designed to connect to Genesis. If you have an attachment, such as the SEGA CD, any sound originating from the SEGA CD will not pass through to the HDMI cable from the SEGA CD to the Genesis. Hook up external speakers to the SEGA CD.2) My second, and much BIGGER issue is with the included converter attachment for the model 1. It appears that the converter cable included is the NEO-GEO cable. They look very similar but they are not compatible. So the connector is useless for the Genesis. As I do not have a model 2 or 3 Genesis, I cannot comment on the connection for those consoles. And as this is my initial impressions, I have no idea about durability. (It ended up being very bad)After reading a few other reviews, it seems like I am not the only one who is experiencing this Model 1 extension cable problem. Yet despite the Model 1 attachment issue, I would still recommend this to anyone with a SEGA Genesis who wants to connect it to a modern TV. But at least in my case, be warned you may need to source your own Model 1 converter cable. But Considering this is the critical point of connection, I hope the company provides the proper cable in the future.
