This double cut file does not disappoint. I bought it with the idea of using it for my lawn mower blade but also found it excellent for my machetes. Cuts quickly. Quality item.

Just the size I need. As a professional handyman I spend a lot of time working on door hardware, this is just the right size and cut for working on strike plates. It's a handy size to keep in my toolbag paired with Nicholson Hand File (Boxed), American Pattern, Double Cut (Single Cut Back), Half-Round both mounted to their own handles Nicholson Type B Wooden File Handle, Size 3, 4-1/8" Length (Pack of 1).I might have given it 5 stars if it was made in the USA instead of Mexico.

Replacement for very old&used file

My grandfather only sold Nicholson files in his hardware store, so I always used the brand. Once I bought a set of off-brand files to have around and, like all big box buys, they were made to sell at the lowest price not to do any serious filing. So, for anew project I'm investing a little more in a good files. I bought three grades of Nicholson files to use filing knife blades.

Item is advertised as: "Included Components (6) 10" Flat Double/Single Cut Smooth File"indicating that there are six (6) files in a box. I received only one (1) file.
