Mighty Mag Magnetic Base with VME VDI-2 0-1" Dial Indicator

It has a good strong magnet and holds well. Indicator mounting is not as versatile as I thought. Butt makes a great travel indicator. Indicators seems to do the job good for the price

great magnet, better have good pull to get it loose. Worth every penny.

I've tried ordering this product twice from this seller. The first time, I received just the mag base, with no dial indicator; since I didn't want to pay the extra $15 for the non-existent dial indicator, I returned it and reordered. I just received the replacement, and it's the "quick-release" version of the mag base, and is still missing the dial indicator. I'm not sure what's going on with how orders are filled back at the warehouse, but I need this base immediately for a project, and I have some other dial indicators around, so I'm not going to bother returning it again.So far as the base itself goes, it seems solid. There was some machining scale left in the threads, and the threaded holes don't appear to be perpendicular to the body face, but the included bolts threaded fully and without trouble, and the magnet itself seems plenty strong to hold up against an engine lathe's advancing carriage. Should be just fine for staying in place on a way or crossfeed.

the base is good & the indicator is good, but adapting the indicator to the base is terrible. An adapter is needed, but wasn't there.

This is a real "MIGHTY MAG" not a cheap copy, and there is a difference. I had a copy, which I purchased not realizing what it was. The magnet pulled out, actually, it was more like "kind if a magnet" or "parts" of a magnet, BUT not worth gluing back together. This is solid, and with the indicator, it's a "deal". I would highly recommend this product to anyone needing a good base to use on their lathe or milling machine & or etc.

The magnetic grip of this base is incredible.

Got the magnetic part but no indicator, returned it.

Good price and it works very well for fence setups.
