Yes you can machine wash but if you want it to stay rainproof you will need to reproof every time you wash it. Found it best to sponge down so saving on reproofing

Q: It says the side width is 13cms. Does that measurement include the outer pocket? (as that does stick out from the main body of the bag).

I’ve just measured mine and it’s approx 16cm wide. The front pocket has 2 folds on the front that over lap meaning it can stay flat when empty so shouldn’t really affect the overall width. The full width with the front pocket packed full is approx 28cm.
