Better than stock
Twice the power of stock on my tao tao 150. Upgraded previous motor to 171cc and drive gear upgrade, and this one still pulls harder and goes faster. Added 10mph to the top speed. Had it for about a year now. Leaks oil like a sieve since new but im just too lazy to find the leak. I just keep it topped off and it runs fine. Paired with an upgraded Nibbi 26mm cars and that only decent exhaust you can find on amazon. It's the 200 dollar one, full stainless steel. Also well worth the price. Can't go wrong with this motor.

Works for a while, then it all goes wrong
My original motor on my scooter lasted over 9,000 miles before failing and requiring a rebuild. It had also been tortured by a teen kid prior to my acquiring it. I ride an average of thirty miles a week, under the speed limit, in town, no highways, off-roading, or crazy stuff. I rode like a granny for the first two hundred miles, changed the oil often, never letting it get low. This motor failed in just over a year, breaking the timing chain and seizing with less than 1,100 miles on it. I'd venture a guess that sub-standard components are being sourced to build these motors, just durable enough to function for a short time. Tough cookies you onlyget a tenth of a typical motor's use. I wrote them asking what they had to say about their motor lasting 1/10 of the time it should have. Were they willing to stand behind their product? Nope. They say engines' performance varies for a lot of reasons. This isn't a performance issue, it is a catastrophic engine failure due to cheap parts that should have lasted much longer. They also suggested I should kindly see a certified mechanic to find out what's wrong with my engine. No, thanks, I'm already out over two bills in time and parts, (if I decide to rebuild it) and paying some one else another two to take apart my lego motor and say,"that 7 dollar part made the 12 dollar part destroy the vroom vroom" isn't necessary. I see in other reviews that I'm not the only one to get hosed by them. Since public feedback is not available, I will use this product review to inform and caution my fellow Amazon shoppers. I'd suggest you purchase your motor elsewhere.

High quality motor
This engine is way better than the stock engine that came with my scooter. I don't know why some folks are having some problems I'm assuming they don't have their carburetors jetted right. However I did all kinds of upgrades and with the proper settings and adjustments this motor runs great. I love it

Update. Engine had problems in the beginning
!!! Make sure you check the oil level before you drive it. This is what happened:The engine was installed, driven for about 15 miles, then, when stopped and tried to restart it it didn't. I looked at it bubbles were coming out of the engine block body. Photo attached.Did not drive it for a day and before unmounting it, I troubleshooted several parts. Drained some of the engine oil. Restarted it and this time it started. For the time being it works OK

If you need a new engine, get this one as soon as possible.
Killed the original engine on my new scooter after like two months of having it. So I found this little beauty and bought it. It was a pretty straight forward install, no problems, went smooth. Shipped fast also. Also my original engine didn’t have a crankcase vent hose, which worked out because this engine doesn’t either so I didn’t have to change the cover.I will say it runs louder than the original, which is fine by me because I like it. I went over the entire engine an there is no leaks in the exhaust system or vacuum lines. My bike runs great, I’ve done a few modifications before and after getting this engine an I’m still happily riding as fast as I can to wherever I’m going.

Nice engine
Really nice engine. Fit my 150 cc maddog perfectly . Not as fast as my original engine that did 70 mph but hey 55-60 is still good. The spacer that goes under the carburator manifold was slightly cracked (I didn't know at first, factory install mess up) but after replacing it we are good to go. Engine is super easy to install and also to work on. Once paid off I will buy a back up one . Money is spot on so it works. Over all I'm very satisfied so far .

this engine is Perfect and Powerful
my mechanic told me I need to fix the clutch on my 150cc Powermax. I purchased the engine a whole lot cheaper than fixing my old.WOW, this engine is Perfect and Powerful. I installed it quickly....harness replacement that's all. I will never try to fix another engine again. This engine comes complete (cdi, starter, etc.,) just install it check wiring and done.I READ A POST THAT THE ENGINE COMES FILLED WITH OIL. NOT....shippers are not allowed to ship engines with oils, gas or other environmental hazardous liquids or fluids.DO CHECK the OIL and GEAR levels BEFORE starting engine. AND check ALL nuts and bolts, SAFETY is NEVER too much.
