Q: Are these heavy or lightweight fabric ?

I would say they are heavy--very nice to embroider on.--Wash up well.

Q: where are these made?

I looked on the label from our last order it says India also that said these are the heaviest nicest towels you'll find period

Q: Will these shrink after washing?

I haven't had them shrink for me. I do wash with hot water, rinse with cold, and tumble dry most of the time. These haven't lost their shape, distorted the embroidery design or shrunk away from the fabric borders I've added.

Q: Why was the price raised recently from $15.99 to $24.00??
