Good product, easy to install and use
Perhaps a bit pricy for a cable, but it works! I connected a Standard Horizon Matrix radio to OpenCPN (free chart plotting software) on my notebook PC and I can see AIS data and my position. Set up is easy; the drivers with the cable works. It just takes setting the radio output settings correctly, setting the COM port to the correct speed, and adding the device to CPN

Works Like it Should!
I use this adapter to link an old Garmin GPS receiver to my laptop. Works very well. Installation requires limited knowledge of NMEA 0183 network wiring. Recommend purchasing this in conjunction with an electrical project box and some euro-style wiring terminal strips to make a clean, serviceable installation.

Easy install, good data transfer rate.
Using this as a NMEA 0183 interface between a Standard Horizon VHF/GPS/AIS radio unit and OpenCPN on a laptop in order to display AIS targets. No drivers needed for Windows 10. Have also tested this with a Raymarine analog radar unit (yet to be permanently installed) which is also NMEA 0183. Now have ARPA overlay on OpenCPN. The USB adapter is providing good data transfer for the different baud rates from the VHF and Radar. Depth finder interface is next on the list. Am quite impressed with this adapter considering the price and would highly recommend it for someone looking to put together a low-end NMEA "backbone".

Worked great!
It took me a little while to get the wiring figured out, but I was able to get an old pg-500 heading sensor to work on my laptop running rosepoint. I’m excited to see what other nmea 0183 devices I can run with this converter, since we’ve switched our chartplotter to a Garmin.
