Q: Can this weld aluminium ?

The pulse TIG description is a little misleading used in this context. to weld aluminum you need an AC welding machine which pulses from positive to negative which prevents the aluminum becoming oxidised affecting the quality of the weld Th pulse TIG on this machine only pulses for tack welding at regular intervals, I would be skeptical if I said it could even tack alloy or produce a defect free weld in alloy I would not buy this machine if I needed to weld aluminum get a machine equipped with AC pulsed, hope this helps you need AC pulsed Hope this helps

Q: Can this unit run off a domestic 13A supply, or does it need something a bit beefier?

Domestic supply will run this machine for shorter periods I use mine on little more amps, if it is for heavier duty work you might risk overheating

Depends on what type of metal you are welding, recommend CO2 +5% Ar for general Carbon Steel, plenty of You Tube sites if your new to welding The TIG set does not come with a regulator but does have the push fit pipe fittings for the gas supply hose Make sure you have some TIG electrodes as they don't come with the kit at least they didn't when I purchased the TIG kit
