Great Sound Bar
This sound bar has an excellent quality sound and a bargain, build quality is great and the bass is very loud if you want it to be, easy to set up and looks good.

Sounds brilliant, easy to set up but one niggling issue persists.
I got this soundbar on sale to use in my bedroom for use with a HiSense U7QF, an Nvidia Shield Pro and an Xbox Series S. Out of the box, I was impressed with the build quality and heft to the soundbar and subwoofer, it just looks and feels really premium with matte black finish, metal grille and silver side panels. Setting up the HT-SBW460 was an absolute breeze using the 4k passthrough HDMI ports and it fits just perfectly under the TV without impeding the view.My initial impression upon first listen was that the bass was far too prominent and overwhelms the trebles and mids. Adjusting the level of bass was a simple press off a button but here is my main frustration with this soundbar, it forgets settings every time it powers off. I checked Sharp’s website to see if there were any firmware updates that could be performed via usb to correct the issue but sadly there are none which is disappointing given that this soundbar was released back in June 2020. If the bass is too much, you can always follow the tech savvy method of putting a microfibre cloth or two in the reflex port at the back of the subwoofer to dampen it down. Now, having said all that, let’s get to the good stuff. After turning the bass way down, I decided to watch some content with Dolby Atmos sound and I have to say that I was hugely impressed with the performance. I know that it’s a 3.1 soundbar with no upfiring speakers but it was an amazingly immersive experience that added to the enjoyment of the movie. Dialogue was crystal clear thanks to the centre channel speakers even with explosions etc happening in the background so you’ll never struggle to hear voices on screen ever again as the sound is rich with a presence and clarity that belies its size & price. It is astounding how much more detail you can pick up and you really do become aware of where sound is coming from in relation to the screen. As for gaming, I thought that the cars in Forza Horizon 5 sounded good before but now with Dolby Atmos they sound utterly amazing. It’s the little things too, like how you can tell if the car trying to overtake you is coming up on your left on your left or right before you even see it. I tested out Resident Evil 2 next and this soundbar really enhances the tense atmosphere because when you hear Mr X’s footsteps coming your way it is so unsettling! The sound presets are good and each serves the appropriate purpose well. The surround sound feature works fantastically well for regular audio content and adds depth and space to what would ordinarily be quite mundane sound. All in all, I’ve been blown away by the quality and value of the HT-SBW460 and if it wasn’t for the resetting issue, I’d buy another one for the living room (I’m currently considering getting a Majority Sierra Plus for that).

Essential audio upgrade
A great sound bar with a fantastic wireless subwoofer . The sound is crisp and detailed with a smooth and heavy bass effect. Easy to set up with a nice simple remote control. Bass & treble levels are adjustable .

Buy it
Looked at a few different soundbars but glad I picked this one. I use it purely for tv use so can only comment on that basis. It sounds fantastic, the bass is superb and adds life to what you are watching. Super easy to set up, make sure you have a " HDMI ARC socket on your TV as this is where it goes into if you are using the HDMI as your preferred connection port. I would recommend this product without hesitation it's great

Turned off constantly
Where to begin...?- Randomly powered off no matter how many things we tried.- Settings reset themselves every time it powered off which was within 15 minutes of trying to watch something which resulted in the bass being super high.- HDMI Arc cut outThe only positive was the sound was good for the 15 minutes it worked.

Sounds ok for the price but unreliable
About once a night it’ll turn itself off and produce a loud static noise requiring a reboot. The sound is better than the tv speakers but sometimes I don’t notice the difference

Dolby Atmos on a budget done well!
Since my old Logitech 2.1 system were on it's last breath, I decided to upgrade my sound system. Dolby Atmos is one the features that always interested me, but it's quite risky to find a good system where is done well, and it doesn't cost an arm and leg. Besides this Sharp system I was looking at the Majority Sierra and Creative Stage 360, and the TCL TS8132 as budget friendly options. I'm actually glad I choose the Sharp in the end, it has many great benefits.Build quality - it seems to be really well made, both the soundbar and the woofer has a healthy heft, doesn't feel like a cheap toy. On the pictures it might seem it has a silver colour/tint, but it's matte black, goes well with any interior, simple yet elegant. The soundbar is 1 meter in width, make sure you have enough space.Features - the included remote is quite small, with all the controls you might need. There's a few EQ settings, music, news, night, movies. The bass and treble can be adjusted, unfortunately, no 4/5 band EQ to shape the sound further. I connected to my TV via ARC, setup is a breeze. There's a really stupid energy saving feature which cannot be turned off unfortunately - if there's no signal detected for approximately 15min (ie you pause a movie) it automatically turns itself off, at least it warns you (counts back from 10, then shuts off). It can be quite annoying, but not a dealbreaker for me. The LED display is easy to read, and turns itself off after a few min, so it's not in your face all the time while you're watching a movie. It has all the ports to connect to your TV, make sure your TV is Atmos compatible, not every ARC compatible TV can take the full advantage of this speaker! I learned the hard way, but since I upgraded my TV as well, so I can enjoy the atmos feature via eARC. It will still work if your TV is not supporting officially dolby atmos, but rather you will get basic dolby audio, in that case, I wouldn't waste money on this, as you won't be able to enjoy the main selling feature of this system.Sound - sound is REALLY objective, we all hear and looking for things in an audio system differently. Don't be put off by some comments stating this system is worse than their 10 year old cheap soundbar or integrated TV speakers. Dolby Atmos aside, IMO I think this is a really decent audio device. The soundbar has a really crisp clarity, the stereo separation is excellent, while the center channel is reservered for vocal/speech. The woofer can be amazing. Can be, as it's quite overpowering the soundstage with out of the box settings. Fortunately can be tamed as the bass is adjustable. This sub is definetely tuned for movies, rather than music, although it's more than capable for music as well. Other way to calm down the woofer is to stuff a microfibre cloth in the bass port, it makes a huge differrence in bass response, becomes much tighter and controlled. Where it lacks a bit, is Youtube/regular TV chanells. Although the voice is crisp and clear, the upper mids are lacking, it can sound hollow at the times, as the woofer doesn't kick in, as it has a way lower cut off (tuned for movies) but again it can be adjusted with the remote controls bass adjuster. Where this unit really shines is movies - with a well executed Atmos movie soundtrack (like 1917 for example) it's amazing how much value you get for your money, even tho this unit doesn't have up firing speakers like 'real' atmos soundbars, it's amazing how easily it tricks you where the sound is coming from. Paired with a good TV this soundbar is more than capable to deliver some serious uplift in your home cinema experience.Power - 440W claimed... I never really trusted these numbers, this is why serious companies who know a thing or two about audio (Sonos, Denon etc) won't even include a wattage number on their soundbars. I would say this unit is enough to fill a medium sized room, which is perfect for most people in flats.Verdict - there are better sounding/looking soundbars and also way cheaper than this. For me it was a good choice as it has a nice balance of features and value for the money, 2 years of warranty is a nice addition. You can sometimes get these heavily discounted, IMO they even worth the full price, a really strong competitor in the budget Atmos soundbar space. Sorry for the long review, thought might help you choose, as not many detailed reviews out there.
