This battery was much lower cost than the iRobot replacement and so far so good. The running time is as good or better than original. Only time will tell if this battery lasts as long.

This brought our roomba back to life. Had been suffering with short run times, but now like new.

I ordered this battery because the info on the Amazon site said it was especially made to work with the 900 series. It even mentioned the 985 specifically. I read many reviews and lots of information about the ups and downs of using non-OEM batteries so I was guardedly optimistic about this one since it mentioned my model number. I was hoping to get more run time with each cleaning pass and therefore cut down on the total time for the Roomba's jobs. That did not happen.I installed the battery and did a reset on my Roomba while the battery had no charge. I let it charge overnight. The first pass was pretty good - 90 minutes. While charging for a second pass, the Roomba gave Error 8 and wasn't recognizing the battery. I reset the Roomba and it appeared to be charging. After 90 minutes of charging, the app said the battery was fully charged. I started a new job and the Roomba ran out of juice after only 15 minutes. I reset the Roomba again and it seemed to be charging but stopped charging after a few minutes and got another Error 8.I returned this battery. I don't want to have to fool with it and do multiple resets to tease it to work the way it was described to perform on the Amazon site. I never had to do that with my original OEM battery which happens to also be a Lithium battery. My old battery still has some life to it. I'll wait until it dies and hopefully there will be better choices for replacements by then.

Arrived quickly and gave Roomba anew life

Only had it for a few months but seems to be working very well at a third of the cost of one from roomba.

The battery installed easily and required no resetting of my Roomba 960. It charged normally in a few hours. Note this is a Li-Ion battery like the original on the 960, rather than a cheaper but less efficient and potentially not fully compatible NiMH battery.For my floor plan of mostly low pile carpeting, the 960 now gets over 120 minutes on the initial pass of a cleaning job, instead of only 75 minutes from the original 1800mAh battery.However, since Roomba limits recharging time during a cleaning job to 90 minutes, this higher capacity battery does not get sufficient time to fully recharge during a job. It does though charge to full capacity after a job is complete. Regardless, that additional 45 minutes of power on the first pass of a cleaning job really makes a difference.UPDATE AFTER 1 MONTH:After many cleaning jobs using this battery, the Roomba began returning early for recharging during a job. I tried resetting my Roomba 960 by holding down the CLEAN button for 10 seconds until a beep was heard. The first time I tried this was when the battery was full, and I still experienced some short run times afterwards. I then reset the Roomba when the battery was EMPTY and then let it fully charge, and this seems to have worked, with the battery giving consistently long run times since. I see this is the recommended procedure for other brand batteries, and may be worthwhile doing when first installing. I’ll update again if there are any issues. Still rating 5 stars so far.UPDATE AFTER 2 YEARS:Battery still working great after 2 years. Major improvement over the standard OEM battery.

This battery is awesome! Roomba is like a new, supercharged robot! This is the first time he's ever worked this well since I got him, even after IRobot sent him a new battery a year or so ago! He lasts a full hour and 20 minutes on this battery before needing to recharge. He did my whole upstairs in half the time as normal. I was hesitant to buy an off brand, but based on the reviews I decided to risk it, and I'm so glad I did! I liked it so much I bought a second one.

When this battery actually does charge, it works well. Run time is like the original. But the original battery lasted about a year and this lasted about a couple months. This battery hasn't been very good at charging.I get "Charging error" constantly. I've cleaned the contacts regularly and each time the error pops up, but nothing seems to help.Its frustrating to not have the vacuum working on schedule due to a battery issue.I'd recommend to not buy this. For around $40, it's not worth only lasting a few months.UPDATE: The company sent me a new battery to replace the defective one. Once I replaced the defective one with the new one, the unit charged right away. I've been using it daily for about 4 days and it's been working each day properly.I appreciate the company for addressing this and sending another battery, so I'll raise my rating. But I'll still wait a couple months to see how long this one last.
