Q: How do you recline the chair & get it up again? Is there a release button or something?

Press on the arms with your hands as if you were getting out of the chair, then push the back of the chair using your back and shoulders. The chair will then go into the recline position. To bring it back to normal apply pressure to the footrest with your legs or feet and the chair will go to normal.

Q: How much assembly I am on my own in my 70 years

I was 69, I managed but easier with help.

Q: Is the cushion upholstered with springs?

No just cushion but I would not recommend this chair as the arms are not strong enough and are bending out and I am not happy with this chair
